Job Title: Tester

Location: Remote (occasional travel to either London or Bristol)

Employment Type: Permanent

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + benefits

Start Date: Immediate

Industry: IT Services & Consulting

We're looking for an experienced Tester to join a fast-growing Technical Excellence Capability Centre within one of our key IT Consultancy clients.

This isn't a narrow software-testing role - you'll be validating infrastructure, environments, deployments and integrations across a genuinely varied technology landscape, working hands-on with developers, DevOps engineers and project teams. You'll take ownership of test plans across large-scale projects spanning the business, while a Test Manager sets the broader testing strategy.

If you like variety, enjoy solving problems under pressure, and want to build your QA career somewhere that invests in training and certifications, this is a strong fit.

Tester – Key Responsibilities

  • Design, execute and maintain manual test plans across infrastructure, backend services and application layers
  • Validate deployments, configuration changes and environment stability across cloud, servers and CI/CD pipelines
  • Carry out integration, regression and performance testing across multiple platforms
  • Work closely with development and operations teams to identify and resolve issues early
  • Automate repetitive testing tasks using appropriate tools and frameworks
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA practices, tooling and processes
  • Support senior testing leadership in delivering successful outcomes for clients

Tester – Key Skills Required

  • 3+ years as a Tester in large enterprise environments, ideally across multiple sectors
  • Strong hands-on manual testing background, complemented by automation experience
  • Experience testing large enterprise systems, including Java and Oracle web applications
  • Familiarity with Windows 11 in an Evergreen environment
  • Cloud/infrastructure exposure (Azure, AWS or on-premises)
  • API, services and integration testing experience
  • Practical use of tools such as Postman, Jenkins, JMeter or equivalents
  • System integration and data migration experience
  • Strong MS Office skills (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • ISTQB qualification desirable; scripting (Python/Bash/PowerShell) or IaC (Terraform/Ansible) a plus
