Hello, we’re Pret

Proud makers of freshly made food, organic coffee and big ideas. Across 750+ shops and 20+ countries, our teams are shaping the future of Pret through innovation, inclusion, great customer service and a shared passion for doing the right thing. We’re growing fast on our mission to be the hospitality employer of choice everywhere we operate – so it’s an exciting time to hop on board.

Growing good things

Pret is where passionate, hardworking, wonderful people (like you!) find what they need to shine. Growth is at the heart of everything we do – from supporting our people to grow in confidence and skills to pursue their unique paths, to figuring out how to make our food and coffee even more delicious and accessible.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for passionate team players to bring joy to our customers every day. As a Training and Delivery Lead for Pret Foundation you’ll lead the design, delivery and scaling of The Pret Foundation's employability, skills and progression programmes, creating a national talent pipeline that connects untapped talent to sustainable careers.

The role will be responsible for developing a best-in-class employability model that brings together training, placements, employer engagement and progression support, positioning The Pret Foundation as a trusted talent intermediary for the hospitality sector and beyond.

Working across employers, government, training providers, charities and local partners, you will build the partnerships required to create clear pathways from unemployment into work, while laying the foundations for future enterprise and entrepreneurship support.

With more people facing financial insecurity and at risk of homelessness, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to build a stable and independent future.

As we launch our new strategy, focused on creating practical routes out of homelessness through skills development, employment and entrepreneurship, we are seeking an exceptional Training & Delivery Lead to support participants every step of the way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver The Pret Foundation’s flagship employability programme, establishing a clear pathway from referral through training, placement and employment
  • Develop training content covering work, readiness, hospitality skills, confidence, wellbeing and essential workplace behaviours
  • Once employability model is established, lead the development of enterprise initiatives that help individuals progress beyond entry-level employment

Training and Delivery

  • Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions, workshops and learning activities to programme participants.
  • Adapt delivery methods to suit different learning styles, abilities and levels of experience.
  • Monitor attendance, engagement and learning outcomes, adjusting where required.
  • Attend shop and off-site visits (London and regions) to observe learning in action and support Rising Star development whilst on placement.
  • Work closely with the Progression and Jobs Coach to ensure training aligns with participant aspirations and employment opportunities, helping to identify and support the next steps in each participant's journey.
  • Coordinate participant remuneration and expenses, ensuring payments are processed accurately and on time in line with Foundation policies and programme requirements.
  • Celebrate participant achievements and milestones throughout the programme, helping to build confidence, motivation and a sense of community.
  • Work with Foundation and communications colleagues to gather stories and share success stories with internal and external audiences, demonstrating programme impact and bringing outcomes to life.

Manager and Team Training

  • Design and deliver training for Shop Managers, leaders and their teams to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to support Rising Stars participants.
  • Develop practical tools, guidance and resources that enable managers to create positive learning experiences within their teams.
  • Build capability across the business to effectively support programme delivery and participant success.

Programme Quality and Improvement

  • Achieve ambitious targets for programme completion, progression and sustained employment
  • Work alongside the Impact & Insight Lead to gather feedback from participants, managers and stakeholders to evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of programme curricula and learning pathways.
  • Stay informed about best practice in learning, employability training and workforce development.
  • Ensure all training activity is delivered in line with safeguarding, health and safety, equality and diversity requirements.

Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build relationships with hospitality and adjacent sector employers to incorporate relevant industry knowledge and best practice into training programmes.
  • Work closely with organisations (colleges, training providers, awarding bodies and employability partners) to integrate existing sector-led programmes and credentials into The Pret Foundation's delivery model.
  • Create a replicable programme model capable of scaling nationally
  • Represent the Foundation in meetings, workshops and partner forums as required.
  • Reporting to Head of Programme
  • Hybrid working, three days in office, maybe more at peak training times
  • Travel is expected to meet demands of the role

Experience And Skills Required

  • Experience designing and delivering engaging training programmes, workshops or learning interventions – particularly in charity, social impact, youth employment or homelessness sectors
  • Experience creating learning materials, training resources and facilitation guides.
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those facing barriers to employment, education or social inclusion.
  • Experience building positive relationships with a range of stakeholders, including managers, employers and external partners.
  • Experience monitoring participant engagement and using feedback to improve programme quality and outcomes.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build trust and credibility quickly
  • Strong organisation and planning skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Passionate about creating opportunities for people facing disadvantages
