About the role As a Thumbnail Designer at The Rundown, you’ll be responsible for designing and publishing high-performing thumbnails, titles and descriptions across The Rundown’s video and social channels, including content for our CEO’s personal brand. Working closely with our media and content teams, you’ll play a key role in shaping how millions of people experience AI news and education through engaging visual storytelling, data-driven creative decisions and consistent brand execution. Key Responsibilities Design 2–3 high-performing, A/B tested thumbnails every weekday for The Rundown’s YouTube and social media channels. Write engaging, SEO-optimised titles and descriptions that maximise clarity and audience engagement. Collaborate with media and content teams to translate stories, scripts and videos into compelling visual content. Analyse performance metrics, test creative approaches and iterate designs based on data and audience insights. Maintain brand consistency across all visual assets, ensuring alignment with The Rundown’s visual identity and storytelling style. Source, edit and enhance images using professional editing and AI tools to produce polished, high-quality creative. Manage the publishing workflow by uploading final thumbnails, titles and descriptions, ensuring content is published on schedule. Skills and experience Exceptional eye for design with experience creating high-performing digital content. Excellent copywriting skills and English proficiency, with the ability to write compelling titles and descriptions. Experience designing and A/B testing YouTube thumbnails for videos achieving 100k+ views. Strong understanding of performance analytics with a passion for testing, learning and continuous optimisation. Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Desirable Experience working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment. Flexibility to occasionally work across different time zones when required. Passion for AI and a genuine excitement for making AI knowledge and skills accessible to millions of people worldwide. Experience using AI-powered creative tools to enhance design workflows.
