  • Monitor harvesting productivity, utilization rates, operating costs, and schedule performance.
  • Ensure harvested timber meets required species, dimensions, grade, moisture, and quality specifications.
  • Coordinate timber sorting, grading, measurement, storage, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Manage timber yards, storage areas, loading facilities, and material-handling operations where applicable.
  • Coordinate timber transportation and optimize delivery schedules, routes, loads, and logistics costs.
  • Manage relationships with sawmills, processors, manufacturers, traders, customers, and other timber buyers.
  • Support timber sales, pricing, contract negotiations, customer requirements, and delivery commitments.
  • Monitor timber markets, demand trends, pricing, species preferences, and emerging commercial opportunities.

  • Coordinate road construction and maintenance activities while minimizing environmental impacts.
  • Implement measures to protect soil, water resources, wildlife habitat, and sensitive ecological areas during harvesting.
  • Ensure harvesting activities comply with approved forest-management plans and environmental requirements.
  • Support reforestation, regeneration, thinning, restoration, and post-harvest activities.
  • Monitor regeneration success and identify areas requiring corrective action.
  • Implement measures to reduce timber damage, waste, breakage, and unnecessary resource loss.
  • Establish quality-control procedures for timber measurement, grading, handling, and inventory management.
  • Investigate discrepancies involving timber volumes, quality, deliveries, or contractor performance.
  • Maintain strong health and safety standards across harvesting, transportation, equipment, and field operations.
  • Conduct operational risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Develop emergency procedures for severe weather, wildfires, equipment failures, accidents, and other forestry incidents.
  • Ensure contractors and employees receive appropriate safety, environmental, and operational training.
