About Qompyl

Qompyl is an early-stage fintech startup building a no-code platform that enables users to create, backtest, analyze, and monitor trading strategies.

Our mission is to make sophisticated quantitative trading tools more intuitive, visual, and accessible. We are developing a platform where accuracy, data integrity, and sound financial logic are essential to delivering a reliable and trustworthy user experience.

About the Role

We are looking for a Trading Analyst to help build, test, and improve the trading experience within Qompyl.

This is a hands-on and cross-functional role combining indicator creation, trading analysis, product validation, community engagement, and product collaboration.

You will work directly with Qompyl's indicators and strategy-building tools: creating and researching indicators, validating their logic and behavior, building and testing strategies, and identifying opportunities to improve the platform from a trader's perspective.

You will also work closely with our product and trading teams to contribute ideas and feedback that help shape Qompyl's product vision. As our community grows, you will interact with traders and beta users, gather feedback, understand their needs, and help translate those insights into new indicators, strategies, and product improvements.

This is not a traditional software QA role. We are looking for someone who understands trading and enjoys building, testing, experimenting, communicating with traders, and contributing to an evolving product.

Core Responsibilities

Indicator Creation & Validation

  • Research and create new trading indicators for the Qompyl platform.

  • Define indicator logic, parameters, signals, and expected behavior.

  • Validate new and existing indicators to ensure calculations and outputs are financially and logically correct.

  • Test indicators across different assets, market conditions, and time periods.

  • Identify unexpected behavior, inconsistencies, edge cases, or misleading signals.

  • Collaborate with the trading and product teams to improve Qompyl's indicator library.

  • Help translate trading concepts into intuitive functionality that can be used within the Strategy Builder.

Strategy Testing & Trading Analysis

  • Create and test trading strategies using Qompyl's Strategy Builder.

  • Combine indicators and trading conditions to explore different strategy ideas.

  • Analyze entries, exits, position sizing, returns, P&L, drawdowns, volatility, and other relevant performance metrics.

  • Review backtesting results and determine whether they are financially reasonable and consistent with expected market behavior.

  • Challenge unrealistic assumptions, unexpected results, or potential biases.

  • Test strategies across different market scenarios and identify cases where product or trading logic should be improved.

  • Provide practical feedback based on how a real trader would interpret and use the platform.

Community & Trader Feedback

  • Support the development of Qompyl's community of traders and beta users.

  • Engage with users to understand how they build strategies, use indicators, and interact with the platform.

  • Gather feedback, questions, pain points, and requests from the community.

  • Help users understand trading indicators, strategies, and relevant platform functionality when appropriate.

  • Identify recurring community needs that could become new indicators, features, educational resources, or product improvements.

  • Act as a bridge between Qompyl's trading community and the internal product team.

Product Collaboration

  • Work closely with Qompyl's product and trading leadership to help improve the platform.

  • Bring a trader's perspective to discussions around new features, indicators, strategy-building functionality, and user experience.

  • Participate in brainstorming and exploration of new product ideas.

  • Help evaluate whether proposed features solve meaningful problems for traders.

  • Translate observations from strategy testing and community feedback into actionable product insights.

  • Contribute beyond a narrowly defined function as Qompyl's product and community evolve.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong practical understanding of trading and financial markets.

  • Hands-on experience trading, analyzing markets, building strategies, or working closely with trading systems.

  • Strong understanding of technical indicators and how traders use them to generate and evaluate signals.

  • Understanding of entries, exits, order logic, position sizing, portfolio allocation, risk, P&L, returns, and drawdowns.

  • Ability to critically evaluate trading strategies and backtesting results.

  • Analytical mindset and strong attention to detail.

  • Curiosity and willingness to experiment with indicators, strategies, and new trading concepts.

  • Ability to explain trading concepts clearly.

  • Strong communication skills and interest in interacting with traders and users.

  • Comfortable working independently in a remote, asynchronous, early-stage startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating or modifying trading indicators.

  • Experience with systematic, quantitative, or algorithmic trading.

  • Familiarity with platforms such as TradingView or other strategy-building/backtesting tools.

  • Experience with stocks, ETFs, futures, forex, cryptocurrencies, or derivatives.

  • Experience with Pine Script, Python, SQL, or similar analytical tools.

  • Experience analyzing strategy performance and backtesting results.

  • Previous experience contributing to a fintech or trading product.

  • Experience participating in or supporting trading communities.

  • Product-oriented or entrepreneurial mindset.

Working at Qompyl

You will work closely with Qompyl’s product, engineering, data, and trading contributors to ensure the platform is financially accurate, technically reliable, and genuinely useful to traders.

This role requires curiosity, precision, ownership, and healthy skepticism. We are looking for someone who will not simply confirm that a feature functions, but will question whether its behavior and results make sense in real trading scenarios.

You should be comfortable working independently, communicating asynchronously across time zones, taking ownership of investigations, and contributing your trading expertise in an evolving startup environment.

💡 Please Note - Equity-Only Structure

This is a part-time, equity-only role, suitable as a side engagement alongside a primary job or consulting work. The position will transition to compensated status after the MVP launch and once funding or sustainable revenue is secured.

If you're excited about joining an early-stage mission-driven startup and helping build a next-generation trading platform, we’d love to hear from you.
