Traffic Engineer

Our client in Woodinville, WA is currently hiring for a Traffic Engineer. This position offers significant remote flexibility, with a preference for candidates located on the West Coast. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in traffic studies for new development projects, strong client-facing capabilities, and a Professional Engineering license.

Pay - $145,600 - $166,400/year

Location - Seattle, WA (Remote Flexibility Available)

Schedule - Standard Monday-Friday (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

Lead the preparation and delivery of traffic studies and traffic analysis for mixed-use, multifamily, retail, and public sector development projects

Independently manage traffic engineering projects from proposal through final deliverables

Work directly with existing clients to provide technical guidance and develop long-term relationships

Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, scopes of work, and client presentations

Coordinate project activities with supporting CAD Technicians and Engineers-in-Training (EITs)

Apply traffic engineering expertise to roadway operations, transportation planning, and traffic impact analyses

Utilize tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation to support project delivery when required

Ensure projects meet applicable engineering standards, regulations, and client requirements

Collaborate with team members across multiple locations to maintain quality and schedule commitments

Support safety-focused transportation planning and design initiatives when applicable

Qualification Requirements

10+ years of experience preparing traffic studies and traffic analyses for new development projects

Professional Engineering (PE) license with ability to obtain or currently possess Washington PE licensure

Extensive experience supporting mixed-use, multifamily, retail, and development-focused transportation projects

Proven ability to manage client relationships and serve as a trusted technical advisor

Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles, transportation systems, and roadway operations

Experience with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Disqualifiers

Less than 10 years of traffic study preparation experience

No Professional Engineering (PE) license

Limited or no experience working directly with clients

No experience supporting development-focused traffic engineering projects

Inability to independently manage project workloads

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $145600.00 - $166400.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

15 - 20 years of experience in Traffic Study preparation for new development WA PE required, PTOE preferred Able to work directly with existing and new clients Safety planning and safety project design experience is a plus
