JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Trainer for the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA), you will provide technical, data collection, troubleshooting support for part-time employees (enumerators) who collect agricultural data for the National Agriculture Statistics Service (NASS).
The job is part-time, non-exempt, and paid hourly.
The position is remote. Candidates must reside in the following states: AR, AZ, CO, LA, MS, NM, OK, TX, UT or any neighboring state to those listed.
The starting rate for AR, AZ, LA, MS, NM, OK, and UT is $23.50/hour.
The starting rate for TX and CO is $25.85/hour.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Trainer reports to the Associate Director, Central South region and has no direct reports.
The essential functions include but are not limited to:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for enumerators' IT equipment (iPads), software systems (CAPI, iSolved, iHire) and the Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Create engaging and informative educational content - for both virtual and in person trainings - about NASS surveys and NASS software systems, as well as NASDA employee policies and procedures.
- Enforces security regulations to protect statistical data collected; ensures proper maintenance, preservation, and disposal of all official statistical records.
- Collaborate with the Associate Director to identify regional training needs and develop strategies to address them.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma and minimum 3 years' experience providing training and technical support to employees through virtual and in person formats.
- Proficient in using technology equipment, cloud-based data collection, and communication systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
- Experience using YouTube, Premiere Pro, or similar platforms and software for video creation.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and resolve problems with customer service mindset.
- Strong presentation and teaching skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to pass a federal background check.
SALARY RANGE
The starting rate for AR, AZ, LA, MS, NM, OK, and UT is $23.50/hour.
The starting rate for TX and CO is $25.85/hour.
WORK SCHEDULE
The job is part-time, non-exempt, and paid hourly. Regional travel throughout the year is required. Work hours are capped at 375 per quarter.
The position is remote. Candidates must reside in the following states: AR, AZ, CO, LA, MS, NM, OK, TX, UT or any neighboring state to those listed.
