Zadar, Dubrovnik or hybrid

Rentlio is part of Travelnode, a travel technology hub providing revenue-generating solutions for the travel industry, backed by Sandberg Capital and ARX Equity Partners. Alongside Rentlio in Zadar, the group brings together Phobs in Dubrovnik and Pod.camp in Padova. Together, the three companies cover the commercial and operational sides of accommodation: distribution and revenue management for hotels and resorts, property management for hotels and vacation rentals, and management software for campsites and the open-air sector. Thousands of properties across the Adriatic region and well beyond it run on this technology.

Each of the three has built a finance practice around its own business, and each of them works. The layer above them is in place: group reporting and a consolidated view. What it needs now is someone to run it, sharpen it, keep it dependable, and be the counterpart CEOs, partners, and investors turn to on financial matters.

That is the job: run that layer, improve it, and stand behind the numbers it produces.

What you will own:

Cash and banking. Cash flow monitoring and management, payment approvals, credit management, and relationships with banks and insurance companies.

Controlling and reporting. Reporting directly to the CEO, partners, and investors.

Budgeting and planning. Annual budgets for the group and for the individual business units, forecasting, competitor benchmarking.

Pricing. Sales pricing and pricing for new products.

Accounting, audit and statutory compliance. Accounting policies, taxation, working with external accounting offices, external audits, and compliance with Croatian authorities.

Costs. Cross-departmental cost oversight and its integration into operational processes.

Team. Leading a team of two and working with accountants, lawyers, and advisers.

Data and KPIs. Analysis and interpretation; setting, tracking and evaluating KPIs.

Processes. Implementing, automating and streamlining them.

What we are looking for:

Two things matter more than anything else on your CV.

You have done the work yourself, recently. You have personally run the close, the consolidation, the reporting pack and the cash flow within the last three to five years. That is what lets you tell when a forecast does not hold.

You have worked in an entrepreneurial environment. At least once in a founder-led company, or somewhere without a developed corporate apparatus. A career spent entirely inside a corporation does not prepare you for this mandate.

Beyond that, we are looking for:

Multi-entity consolidation and reporting standardization. You have set a common methodology across companies, or tightened one that was already in place.

Experience reporting to a board or an institutional owner, including a private equity investor.

Management of outsourced accounting providers and the setting of closing standards.

Budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow handled as a business partner, not only as a preparer of schedules.

Banking relationships and growth financing. Existing relationships in Croatia are an advantage.

Revenue recognition in subscription and transaction-based models.

Intra-group arrangements: loans, cost allocation, service agreements and the fundamentals of transfer pricing.

Useful, but not required: SaaS metrics (ARR bridge, NRR, cohort churn, CAC payback); a completed private equity cycle; having led an acquisition end to end; capital structure and covenants; a market entry business case for the region; experience in travel tech, hospitality or hospitality POS.

The honest part

You are neither building a finance function from nothing nor inheriting a finished one. Group reporting and a consolidated view are in place; what they need is a tighter common standard, more depth, and someone who owns them day to day. All three companies already work and already deliver results, so the task is not to change what produces those results; it is to make the layer around them work better.

If that distinction appeals to you, this is an unusually good job. If it does not, it is the wrong one.
