The Treasury Technology Managing Director is a senior technology leader responsible for building, delivering, and operating an enterprise-grade Treasury & Capital Management technology platform that support capital and treasury services.
This role serves as a trusted technology advisor to Treasury leadership, bridging deep technical expertise with a strong understanding of treasury activities, including liquidity management, funding, collateral, RWA and balance sheet optimization, as well as management and regulatory reporting. The candidate will lead system design and modernization efforts across treasury and capital platforms, ensure integration with trading and risk systems, and provide oversight into complex change initiatives while ensuring data lineage, auditability, and robust process controls appropriate in a highly regulated investment banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
Treasury & Capital Markets Technology Leadership

- Act as senior technology advisor for capital markets–oriented treasury services, including cash and liquidity management, intraday liquidity, collateral, margin, funding activities, RWA and balance sheet optimization
- Own the Treasury Technology product roadmap, including multi‑year platform strategy, modernization sequencing, and clearly defined, measurable outcomes aligned to Treasury business priorities
- Influence and define the Target Operating Model for Treasury Technology, including platform ownership, controls, data flows, and end-to-end process automation
- Establish and operate an internal treasury platform model, encompassing product ownership, architecture and engineering standards, SDLC and release governance, and production support, with clear accountability for availability, data quality, and regulatory reporting readiness
- Drive platform industrialization across Treasury technology, including reusable services and APIs, standardized data products, common calculation engines, workflow/orchestration patterns, and a consistent, scalable user experience across Treasury processes
- Lead build vs. buy decisions, ensuring third‑party treasury systems and vendor solutions are integrated into a cohesive internal platform with well‑defined ownership, extension patterns, and lifecycle management
Architecture, Delivery & Integration
- Lead solution architecture and technical design across treasury management systems and their integration with Trading and booking platforms, risk, liquidity, and ALM systems and Finance, ERP, and regulatory reporting platforms
- Oversee large-scale treasury platform implementations and enhancements, including system upgrades, vendor solutions, and strategic migrations
- Facilitate and review detailed technical and functional requirements in partnership with Treasury, Finance, Risk, and Business Analysts
- Coordinate with Infrastructure/Cloud, SRE/Production Engineering, and Network teams to ensure resilience, scalability, and DR/BCP for high & critical Treasury services
- Align with Model Risk / Validation where models or calculation engines impact capital, liquidity, or risk reporting outputs — ensuring governance, documentation, and testing standards are met
Controls, Governance & Regulatory Alignment
- Ensure treasury technology solutions support robust, evidence-based controls, auditability, and regulatory compliance (e.g., liquidity risk, funding transparency, SOX, and broader banking regulations)
- Partner with Treasury Control, IT Risk, and Governance teams to embed control requirements into system design and change processes
- Implement automated control monitoring and metrics‑driven reporting, including exception tracking, break aging analysis, remediation SLAs, and recurring issue identification, with transparent reporting to Treasury Controls and IT Risk stakeholders
- Ensure all regulatory and management deliverables are supported by repeatable, tested, and well‑governed operational processes, including close calendars, run controls, formal sign‑offs, independent checks, and controlled re‑runs
- Proactively identify, manage and communicate program risks, issues, dependencies, and remediation plans to senior technology and business leadership, ensuring ongoing regulatory readiness and timely escalation
Production Stability & Release Management
- Provide oversight into production release planning and deployment for treasury-related systems
- Ensure operational resilience, support readiness, and effective incident response for critical treasury platforms
- Define SLOs/SLAs and service dashboards for Treasury critical services; ensure on-call readiness and production support maturity
- Drive engineering excellence practices: CI/CD, automated testing (unit/integration/regression), environment parity, and controlled configuration management
Leadership & Vendor Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop senior technical resources across both FTE and third‑party teams
- Manage strategic vendor relationships, including platform providers and system integrators
- Provide input into technology budgeting, vendor licensing decisions, and resource allocation
Required Qualifications

- 15+ years of experience delivering complex financial systems (e.g., treasury, finance, liquidity, risk, data platforms)
- Hands-on experience with treasury management systems (e.g., Kyriba, SAP Treasury, GTreasury) and their integration with ERP, markets, and risk platforms
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale treasury transformation initiatives from concept through production rollout
- Proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade TMS or treasury platform implementations
- Strong understanding of Treasury controls, governance, and regulatory expectations within financial services
- Highly organized, proactive self-starter with strong executive communication skills
