UiPath Test Automation Developer

Position Overview

Herdt Consulting is seeking experienced UiPath Test Automation Developers to support a large-scale modernization program for the U.S. Navy, delivering mission-critical ERP modernization and optimization services across its supported commands. This program enables financial, supply chain, and procurement operations within a highly regulated DoD environment, requiring seamless alignment between business processes, technology, and data to ensure compliance, performance, and mission readiness.

The UiPath Test Automation Developer will design, develop, execute, and maintain reusable automated testing solutions supporting SAP S/4HANA integration, negative, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing across SAP GUI, Fiori, web applications, interfaces, and related systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate approved manual test cases, business processes, and acceptance criteria into reusable, parameterized, and maintainable UiPath automation workflows.


• Design and develop automated tests across SAP GUI, SAP Fiori, web applications, interfaces, and related integrated systems.


• Configure test data, variables, checkpoints, exception handling, logging, and automated evidence capture to support repeatable and auditable test execution.


• Execute automated test suites supporting integration, negative, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing and document results and defects in the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).


• Analyze automated test failures and distinguish application defects, data issues, environmental issues, and automation defects.


• Update and maintain automation scripts following SAP configuration, business-process, interface, or release changes.


• Collaborate with functional and technical testers, government stakeholders, system integrators, and UAT teams to identify high-value automation candidates and expand regression coverage.


• Support UiPath Orchestrator execution and monitoring, automation documentation, demonstrations, knowledge transfer, and troubleshooting of automated test results.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated hands-on experience designing, developing, executing, and maintaining automated tests using UiPath.


• Experience automating enterprise application testing across SAP GUI, SAP Fiori, web applications, interfaces, or comparable integrated systems.


• Ability to convert manual test cases, business processes, and acceptance criteria into reusable and parameterized automation workflows.


• Experience configuring test data, variables, checkpoints, exception handling, logging, and evidence capture within automated test solutions.


• Ability to analyze failures and distinguish application defects from automation defects and other execution issues.


• Experience maintaining automation assets as configurations, processes, interfaces, and software releases change.


• Ability to collaborate with functional testers, technical testers, government stakeholders, system integrators, and UAT teams in an enterprise delivery environment.


• Active DoD Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience supporting SAP S/4HANA testing or ERP modernization programs.


• Experience with UiPath Orchestrator for scheduling, execution, monitoring, and troubleshooting automated test suites.


• Prior DoD SAP/ERP experience; U.S. Navy experience is strongly preferred.


• Experience automating regression, smoke, integration, negative, and end-to-end test scenarios.


• Experience developing automation documentation, demonstrations, and knowledge-transfer materials.
