As part of the global BNP Paribas Group, we operate in numerous countries, delivering tailored financing, payment, and insurance products that adapt seamlessly to our customers' evolving needs. Our mission is to promote financial self-determination and support our clients in managing their financial lives confidently and conveniently. We pride ourselves on a culture that values diversity, teamwork, and sustainability, fostering an inclusive environment where every employee can thrive. With a workforce of approximately 180,000 professionals across 64 countries, BNP Paribas Personal Finance is dedicated to shaping the future of banking with a focus on customer-centric innovation and responsible growth.

About The Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior UX/UI Designer to join our Online Banking team in Munich on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing intuitive, engaging, and user-friendly digital experiences across our native banking applications for iOS and Android, as well as our web platforms. Collaborating closely with product teams, you will lead the entire design process—from initial user research and conceptualization to final UI implementation and handover to development. Your work will ensure a consistent and high-quality user experience across all platforms, contributing to the continuous improvement of our digital banking services. You will also have the opportunity to influence design strategies, develop our design system, and work with external partners to deliver innovative solutions that meet both user needs and business objectives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a compelling portfolio demonstrating a strong track record in UX/UI design, with a focus on digital banking or financial services. You should have solid expertise in user research, user-centered design principles, interaction design, and usability best practices, including accessibility standards. Proficiency with industry-standard design and project management tools such as Figma, Jira, and Confluence is essential; experience with Adobe Analytics and Adobe Target is a plus. Familiarity with Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines and Google’s Material Design will be advantageous. You should be a proactive team player with excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of working effectively within agile environments like Scrum. Fluency in both German and English, spoken and written, is required. Prior experience in the banking, fintech, or financial services sectors is highly desirable, though we welcome candidates eager to grow into the role regardless of specific sector experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design process in collaboration with product design leads and product owners, from ideation and user research to wireframing, prototyping, and final UI design.
  • Design and optimize native banking applications for iOS and Android, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience across all platforms.
  • Conduct and analyze user research activities such as interviews, surveys, and usability tests to gather insights and validate design decisions.
  • Maintain and enhance the existing design system, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand standards throughout all digital touchpoints.
  • Support the implementation of designs by working closely with development teams, ensuring high fidelity and quality in execution.
  • Report directly to the Product Design Lead, participating in strategic discussions and aligning design efforts with business goals.
  • Manage external design partners, coordinate project timelines, and oversee deliverables to meet quality standards and deadlines.
  • Assist in preparing briefs, evaluating design proposals, and conducting quality assurance to uphold design excellence.
  • Organize and oversee design project tenders and manage project budgets effectively.

Benefits

  • Generous annual leave of 30 days plus additional holiday entitlements.
  • Flexible work arrangements combining office presence and remote work options.
  • Comprehensive development opportunities including internal and external training programs, talent development initiatives, and international career pathways within the BNP Paribas Group.
  • Subsidies for public transportation, car leasing, and bicycle leasing schemes.
  • Vermögenswirksame Leistungen (asset-building benefits) to support your financial future.
  • Company-sponsored pension plan through BVV.
  • Support for work-life balance and private life through benefits from benefitatwork and voiio, including family support services.
  • Coverage through group accident insurance and survivor benefits.
  • Access to over 6,000 sports and health facilities via EGYM Wellpass, promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Equal Opportunity

BNP Paribas Personal Finance is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. We believe that diverse perspectives and experiences drive innovation and better serve our customers. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, disability, or other characteristics. Our hiring process is based solely on merit and suitability for the role. We encourage anyone interested in shaping the future of digital banking to apply, even if they do not meet every listed qualification. Join us in creating a more inclusive financial world where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
