Underwriting Assistant, Reinsurance

We’re looking for an Underwriting Assistant, Reinsurance Reporting to the AVP, Reinsurance Underwriting Support Manager, you will support the continued development of Hamilton Re’s Reinsurance portfolio. Hamilton Re is our Bermuda insurer underwriting property, casualty and specialty insurance and reinsurance on a global basis. What you will help us do Provide underwriting administrative support associated with the lifecycle of a submission, including data entry, modeling downloads, file preparation and document management Conduct contract reviews and analysis of submission data in our underwriting system and other relevant business systems Liaise with underwriting and operations teams to ensure data is processed timely, accurately and in accordance with compliance rules Ensure department meets financial reporting deadlines Support business development efforts Assist in administration and management reporting of portfolios Contribute to system testing, ad hoc projects and research work What you require for the role Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role with Specialty, Property and Casualty Reinsurance experience preferred Experience with Salesforce or similar underwriting deal management system Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel Experience with SICS will be an asset Ability to work independently within a small team Strong work ethic, attention to detail, good organisational skills, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task Effective communication skills and problem-solving abilities An interest in adopting technology to increase efficiencies Open, innovative and inclusive mindset Collaborative spirit Results-oriented and growth mindset Conduct Standards You must act with integrity You must act with due skill, care and diligence You must pay due regard to the interests of customers and treat them fairly You must observe proper standards of market conduct You must act to deliver good outcomes for retail customers What you can expect from us We offer a vibrant, entrepreneurial, and collaborative culture guided by our values: Be Smart, Be Sensible, Be Open and Be More.
