Join Swiss Re as an Underwriting Coordinator in Property Facilities & Facultative, where you'll work closely with underwriters, brokers, and clients to support our Property underwriting business.

This is an opportunity to apply your analytical and problem-solving skills, gain valuable industry experience, and contribute to a collaborative team where your ideas and initiative can make a difference.

About the Role

In this role, you'll play an important part in supporting our Property Facilities and Facultative underwriting operations. You'll analyze portfolio data, review contractual requirements, coordinate with brokers and clients, and help ensure underwriting processes run efficiently and accurately.

You'll have the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge, work with experienced underwriting professionals, and contribute to process improvements that support the business.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Review and analyze portfolio data, bordereaux, and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with contractual requirements.
  • Identify data inconsistencies, reporting gaps, and trends, providing findings and recommendations to underwriters.
  • Communicate with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders to clarify information, resolve issues, and support timely processing.
  • Support underwriting activities, including submissions, risk clearance, compliance, binding, contract documentation, and post-bind transactions.
  • Maintain accurate underwriting records and documentation in accordance with internal quality and compliance standards.
  • Use Excel, Power BI, and other reporting tools to analyze data and prepare portfolio summaries.
  • Collaborate with underwriters and teams across Contracts, Technical Accounting, Claims, and Business Operations.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve data quality, and support team initiatives while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

About the Team

This is your opportunity to join one of the world's leading reinsurers. At Swiss Re, we help clients understand and manage some of the world's most complex risks, from natural catastrophes and climate change to emerging global challenges.

You'll join a collaborative Business Services team supporting direct and broker Property Facultative business across the North American market. Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll gain exposure to underwriting operations and contribute to delivering high-quality service to our clients and business partners.

About You

You're a curious, detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and collaborating with others. You bring strong organizational skills, take ownership of your work, and are comfortable asking questions and sharing ideas.

You enjoy understanding how things work, identifying opportunities for improvement, and communicating with different stakeholders. You're eager to continue developing your insurance knowledge while contributing your existing skills and experience to the team.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • University degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in insurance, underwriting support, business operations, data analysis, or a related field.
  • Strong Excel skills, including experience analyzing, reconciling, and summarizing data.
  • Ability to interpret contractual requirements, identify inconsistencies, and apply strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective written and verbal English communication skills, with confidence collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn, take initiative, and suggest improvements.

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Exposure to Property insurance, reinsurance, or underwriting operations, particularly Facultative or Facilities business.
  • Experience reviewing bordereaux, portfolio reports, premium data, or similar insurance-related information.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization and reporting tools.
  • Interest or experience in process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency.
