Our client is seeking an entry-level Underwriting Support Assistant to join its operations team. This role is ideal for candidates who have administrative, insurance, mortgage, financial services, or customer support experience and are interested in developing a career within insurance operations and underwriting.
The position offers hands-on exposure to underwriting processes, policy administration, risk evaluation support, and cross-functional business operations.

Work Model: Hybrid, 3 days onsite per week (Tues-Thurs)
Contract Duration: 6 months (potential for extension or long-term opportunities) | W2
Responsibilities:
- Provide backup support to team members during high-volume periods.
- Assist with process improvement initiatives and operational support projects.
- Review information for accuracy and escalate discrepancies when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation within established service standards.
- Collaborate with departments such as Compliance, Claims, Product, and Underwriting.
- Assist with the distribution and processing of policy-related correspondence and documentation.
- Support underwriting and operations teams with administrative and production-related activities.
- Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders through email and other channels.
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Approximately 1 year of administrative, insurance, mortgage, banking, financial services, customer service, or related office experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with property, building, or construction terminology.
- Experience handling time-sensitive documentation and records.
- Insurance, mortgage, underwriting support, or policy administration experience.
- Exposure to financial services, insurance operations, or regulated business environments.
