Contract · Remote · Official Start November 2026, Trial occurs ASAP
About XLR8
XLR8 Mentorship is a private academic performance advisory for international-school families across Switzerland, the UAE, and Malaysia. We work low-volume and high-touch: 1:1 mentoring, coordinated subject specialists, structured roadmaps and detailed parent reporting.
The role
Lead the university pathway for a Year 12 A-Level student at an international school in Switzerland, through to applications for 2028 entry. He's interested in business but undecided; the family is focused on EHL Lausanne and IE University, with the UK as an option. More students with a similar profile will follow.
Pay
- Remote contract; at least 40–60 hours to early 2028 for this student, heavier around application season
- - USD 150–250/hour, depending on track record
- Long Term Commitment at USD5000-USD15000 per student
What you'll do
- Build a long-range admissions strategy starting in Year 12, extracurriculars, work experience and personal story
- Lead school-specific applications: motivation essays, written statements, CV and references
- Prepare him for entrance tests, online assessments and admissions interviews
- Advise on intake timing (September and February entries), deferrals, and sequencing.
What you must have
- A recent track record of placing students into EHL, IE University or peers (ESADE, Bocconi, St. Gallen, Glion, Les Roches)
- Working knowledge of UCAS, and experience with A-Level students(alevel is preferred, not essential)
- Paid professional advisory experience with a current caseload Experience advising A-Level students, or translating non-IB curricula for IB-oriented admissions
- A polished, professional presence with senior-professional parents
Nice to have
- Former admissions officer, or university counsellor at an international school,US Common App experience
- Based in Europe (CET-friendly hours); French
Engagement
1) Initial Pathway Assessment (around 2 hours).
- We'll share an anonymised profile of the student after you sign a short confidentiality agreement. From it, you'll prepare a concise written assessment (1–2 pages) covering:
- your initial read on his fit for EHL, IE University and UK options, and where he stands today
- the biggest gaps and opportunities in his profile, and how to close or use them
- a first six-month plan: extracurriculars, work experience, testing and early application groundwork
- the questions you'd want answered by the student and family
2. Family meeting (around 1 hour).
- You'll walk the family through your assessment alongside our founder.
- Your assessment is the clearest way to show the family how you think, so we treat it as the heart of the trial. It remains XLR8 client material.
- If the engagement continues, we're looking for a long-term partner. This student is the first of several families we expect to work with you on.
How to apply and what to expect
- Apply via LinkedIn and answer the screening questions. If your profile is a fit, we'll contact you, usually within 4 hours.
- We'll send you a 10-minute video about who we are and how we work. Please watch it in full before we speak. A short code appears during the video; reply with it to book your call.
- Come ready to share your screen and show evidence of your work.
- Shortlisted candidates are introduced to the family within 48 hours of the call, as a paid trial (see above).
Expansion on point 3: A CV on its own isn't enough, we are looking for:
- Offer or admission letters for students you've placed at the schools named above and/or Application strategies, essay development or interview preparation you've led
- Note: Please redact student names and any confidential details. We're not asking for private information, only proof that your track record is what your profile says it is.
Process: application → XLR8 video → 20-minute founder call with evidence of your work → paid introduction to the family → long-term engagement if selected
