Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced US Mortgage Underwriter to evaluate and underwrite residential mortgage loan applications across Conventional, Non-QM, DSCR, Bank Statement, and P&L loan programs.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of US mortgage underwriting guidelines, income analysis, risk assessment, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite Conventional, Non-QM, DSCR, Bank Statement, and P&L mortgage loans.
• Analyze borrower income, assets, credit, employment, and collateral.
• Evaluate alternative documentation programs, including 1099, ITIN, Asset Depletion, and P&L-only loans.
• Ensure compliance with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, investor, company, and regulatory guidelines.
• Issue approvals, conditions, suspensions, or denials based on underwriting standards.
• Review and clear underwriting conditions and resubmitted documentation.
• Collaborate with loan officers, processors, brokers, and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate underwriting records and support quality control and audit requirements.
• Stay updated on mortgage products, investor requirements, and regulatory changes.
• Manage multiple loan files while maintaining accuracy and turnaround time.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in US Mortgage Underwriting.
• Strong knowledge of Conventional, Non-QM, and DSCR underwriting.
• Hands-on experience with income analysis, risk assessment, and mortgage compliance.
• Knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines.
• Experience with DU/LP (Automated Underwriting Systems).
• Proficiency in Loan Origination Systems such as Encompass, CalyxPath, or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines.

Work Arrangement

• First 6 months: Work From Office
• After 6 months: Work From Home
• Shift: US Rotational Night Shifts
