Job Title: US Sponsorship Sales Manager

Company: Clutch Group

Job Type: Full Time

Work Set Up: Remote

Who are we

Every senior tech leader has sat through a conference that wasted their day. We don't build those. We build the ones they clear their calendar for.

Clutch is Australia's fastest-growing B2B conference company, recognised by the AFR as the 43rd Fastest Growing Startup in Australia (2025), and we're on pace to deliver 275+ conferences and events this year across APAC and the USA, with Europe now firmly on the map.

We work in the markets that are actually moving: AI, Cybersecurity, Data Protection, DevOps, Identity, FinTech, HR Tech and more.

Now we need a Sponsorship Sales Manager who can take our US portfolio, build serious commercial relationships and turn the right conversations into long-term partnerships.

Role overview

We’re looking for a commercially driven Sponsorship Sales Manager to help grow our US business.

You’ll own sponsorship revenue across our Summits, Roundtables and bespoke events, working with technology vendors that want access to senior decision-makers in the markets they care about.

This is a full-cycle sales role. You’ll prospect, open doors, run discovery calls, pitch, negotiate and close your own deals.

You’ll own your pipeline, your relationships and your number.

We’ll give you the portfolio, support and room to move. What you do with it is up to you.

Key responsibilities

You’ll be working towards 2 main objectives…

Grow sponsorship revenue

  • Own the full sales cycle from first outreach through to signed deal
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of sponsorship opportunities
  • Proactively target relevant technology vendors across the US market
  • Open new accounts through outbound outreach, networking and referrals
  • Run discovery calls to understand client goals, target audiences and commercial priorities
  • Pitch Summit, Roundtable and bespoke event opportunities
  • Build tailored sponsorship solutions rather than pushing generic packages
  • Negotiate commercial terms and close business
  • Consistently deliver against monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets

Grow client relationships

  • Build strong relationships with sponsors and key accounts
  • Understand what success looks like for each client and sell accordingly
  • Identify repeat business, upsell and multi-event partnership opportunities
  • Stay close to clients throughout the event lifecycle
  • Work with internal teams to ensure sponsorship commitments are delivered properly
  • Gather feedback post-event and turn strong results into future business
  • Develop accounts beyond one-off event sales wherever there’s a bigger opportunity

How you’ll work

  • Keep your CRM accurate and your pipeline real
  • Own your forecasting, next steps and deal progression
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Delegate Acquisition, Marketing and Leadership
  • Share what you’re hearing from the market on pricing, competitors and client demand
  • Attend selected US events to meet clients and build relationships
  • Move quickly, stay organised and take responsibility for your number
  • Be comfortable making decisions and getting on with it without layers of approval

At the core, you’ll be responsible for building and converting your own sponsorship pipeline at Clutch, where we pride ourselves on being NO BS.

No bloated sales process. No hiding behind activity for activity’s sake. We care about good conversations, strong relationships and revenue.

Who we're looking for

Someone who genuinely likes selling.

You’re comfortable picking up the phone, opening doors with people who don’t know us yet and having commercial conversations with senior decision-makers.

You know how to move a deal forward without being pushy, and you understand that great sponsorship sales is less about selling inventory and more about solving the right commercial problem.

You want ownership, autonomy and the opportunity to build something rather than inherit a rigid playbook.

Requirements

Must have:

  • Experience in B2B sales, sponsorship sales, event sales, partnerships or a similar commercial role
  • Proven ability to generate new business through outbound prospecting
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle from first contact through to close
  • Confidence speaking with senior and executive-level decision-makers
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and CRM
  • Comfortable working towards revenue targets and KPIs
  • Commercial mindset and strong understanding of client value
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple live opportunities at once
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working with a high level of autonomy
  • Willingness to travel within the US for selected events

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience selling sponsorship for conferences, Summits or executive events
  • Experience selling into AI, cybersecurity, SaaS, cloud, data, identity, HR Tech, FinTech or related markets
  • Existing relationships within the US technology vendor market
  • Experience selling multi-event or longer-term partnerships
  • Experience working in a fast-growth events business
