Company Description
Otto is building a simpler way for property managers and businesses to manage and pay recurring bills across multiple properties. Instead of searching through emails, tracking invoices manually, and paying utility and service providers one by one, Otto brings bills into a single platform where users can review what is due, monitor payment status, and pay multiple bills from one place.
The product is designed for teams managing high volumes of recurring expenses across portfolios of properties, including electricity, water, gas, internet, and other essential services. Otto connects with the systems where bills already arrive, automatically organizes them, and gives users a clear view of upcoming, pending, paid, and overdue obligations.
Our goal is to turn a fragmented, repetitive payment process into a simple workflow: all your bills, organized and ready to pay in one place.
Role Description
The User Experience Architect will design the end-to-end experience of Otto, with a particular focus on making complex bill management and payment workflows feel simple, fast, and trustworthy.
In this full-time remote role, you will work closely with the founders, product, and engineering to understand how property managers and businesses currently receive, review, organize, approve, and pay hundreds of recurring bills across multiple properties. You will translate those workflows into intuitive product experiences that reduce manual work and give users greater visibility and control over their payments.
Responsibilities include conducting user research with property managers and finance teams, mapping existing payment workflows, designing user journeys and information architecture, creating wireframes and interaction patterns, testing prototypes with real users, and continuously improving the product based on behavioral data and customer feedback.
You will also help define key experiences across Otto, including bill ingestion, bill review, payment approval, bulk payments, payment status tracking, exception handling, and portfolio-level visibility. The goal is to make managing hundreds of bills feel as straightforward as managing a handful.
