Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Personal Injury Lien Specialist to manage liens and reimbursement claims throughout the life cycle of personal injury cases. This role is responsible for establishing, tracking, negotiating, and resolving liens to ensure accurate settlement distributions and timely case resolution.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm PST

Monthly Compensation: 1,150 to 1,220 USD

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with firm policies and procedures.
  • Prepare lien reduction requests and assist with lien negotiations.
  • Review billing and lien documentation for discrepancies, duplicate charges, credits, and unrelated treatment.
  • Open, track, and maintain lien records in the case management system.
  • Escalate complex, disputed, or time-sensitive lien issues to attorneys when necessary.
  • Identify potential lien interests, including Medicare, Medicaid, health insurance, ERISA, workers' compensation, hospitals, medical providers, and other recovery entities.
  • Coordinate lien payments, obtain releases and zero-balance confirmations, and ensure proper case closure.
  • Communicate with lienholders, clients, attorneys, case managers, medical providers, and settlement teams regarding lien status and outstanding requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records, notes, deadlines, and follow-up activities.

Requirements:

  • Experience in personal injury law, lien resolution, legal settlements, medical billing, health-plan recovery, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review records, reconcile balances, and identify discrepancies.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with case management software, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, PDFs, and online recovery portals.
  • Experience with SmartAdvocate or similar legal case management systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and exercise sound judgment when escalating issues.
