About the Role

Self Inspection specializes in AI-assisted vehicle inspections and expert vehicle condition assessments — providing precise, transparent, and reliable evaluations for lease, insurance, and fleet vehicles, with deep expertise in Normal Wear & Tear (NWT) and Excess Wear & Tear (EWT) assessments.

We're looking for a Vehicle Damage Estimator with a solid background in collision repair and insurance estimating. You'll remotely assess vehicle condition from photographs, identify repairable versus replaceable components, and prepare accurate estimates using industry-standard software — all to U.S. industry standards.

Great fit if you're a detail-oriented, analytical professional with strong technical judgment who takes pride in accurate, well-documented work. Not a fit if photo-based remote assessment feels like a downgrade from the shop floor.

What You'll Do

• Conduct remote inspections of lease and fleet vehicles to identify normal and excess wear and tear
• Evaluate vehicle damage from photographs and supporting documentation
• Prepare accurate, well-documented repair estimates in Audatex
• Determine repair vs. replace for components in accordance with U.S. industry standards
• Maintain clear, detailed, professional records of findings
• Support process improvement initiatives that raise team performance and operational standards

Must-Haves

• 5+ years in insurance claims, collision repair estimating, or related vehicle damage assessment
• Strong working knowledge of Mitchell and/or Audatex
• Solid knowledge of automotive mechanics, parts identification, repair procedures, and vehicle condition evaluation
• Proven experience assessing vehicles through photo-based inspections
• Fluent English — written and verbal
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and sound professional judgment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent tools
• Located in Mexico

Nice-to-Have

Experience with both Mitchell and Audatex · lease-return or fleet vehicle assessment background · U.S. insurance carrier experience · comfort working in multicultural, multilingual teams
