About the Opportunity

micro1 is partnering with a leading AI lab to engage experienced finance and investment professionals to help improve how advanced AI systems reason about financial markets, valuation, investment decisions, and real-world transactions.

Selected experts will apply practical experience from investment banking, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, and growth equity to evaluate AI-generated financial analysis, develop expert-level evaluation scenarios, and identify weaknesses in model reasoning and assumptions.

The role focuses on applying real-world investment expertise to AI training and evaluation. Prior AI experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated outputs involving valuation, financial modeling, capital markets, investment analysis, and financial decision-making.
• Create expert-level prompts and realistic financial scenarios grounded in real-world transaction and investment experience.
• Develop reference answers that reflect sound financial methodology and professional investment judgment.
• Identify errors, weak reasoning, unsupported conclusions, and unrealistic financial assumptions in AI-generated responses.
• Assess whether financial models, valuations, and investment analyses are logically structured and commercially realistic.
• Provide detailed domain-specific feedback to improve AI model reasoning and financial accuracy.
• Apply practical knowledge of investment processes, transaction analysis, and financial markets to evaluation tasks.
• Help establish high-quality benchmarks for assessing AI performance on complex financial problems.

Required Qualifications

• At least 1 year of professional experience at a well-known financial firm or legitimate startup in one or more of the following areas:
• Investment Banking
• Private Equity
• Venture Capital
• Hedge Funds
• Growth Equity
• At least part of the qualifying professional experience must have been obtained within the past 7 years.
• Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation, investment analysis, and financial markets.
• Undergraduate degree from a top-ranked university.
• Strong written communication skills in English.
• Ability to clearly explain complex financial reasoning and identify weaknesses in financial analysis.
• Based in an English-speaking country.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working directly on live transactions, investment decisions, or financial due diligence.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
• Experience performing company valuation using methodologies such as DCF, comparable companies, and precedent transactions.
• Experience with investment research, market analysis, or capital markets.
• Experience evaluating financial models or investment recommendations.
• Previous experience with AI training, evaluation, benchmarking, or prompt development is a plus.
