About the Role
A leading global online delivery platform is seeking a Manager, Ventures & Partnerships to identify and develop new revenue opportunities beyond its established core delivery business in Germany.
This role combines venture building, business development, strategic partnerships and commercial strategy, with responsibility for taking new ideas from initial concept through market testing and validation. You’ll work with external companies and startups while coordinating cross-functional internal teams to build commercially viable new business opportunities.
You’ll also act as the German-market interface for global ventures, adapting group-level initiatives to local market conditions, legal requirements and operational realities.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify new commercial opportunities, business models and revenue streams beyond the core delivery business.
- Assess customer demand, market potential, commercial viability and unit economics.
- Identify, develop and negotiate partnerships with external companies and startups.
- Structure and close commercial agreements that create sustainable value for both parties.
- Design and execute real-world venture pilots and market tests.
- Determine whether successful pilots should progress into permanent business lines or be discontinued.
- Adapt global venture initiatives to German market requirements and operating conditions.
- Build and lead agile, cross-functional project teams across Legal, Finance, Operations, Marketing and other functions.
- Influence stakeholders and drive projects without direct line-management authority.
- Partner with Country Strategy to ensure ventures and partnerships align with broader business objectives.
- Manage external partner relationships and develop long-term commercial models.
- Coordinate cross-functional dependencies and resolve operational challenges.
- Monitor market trends, emerging business models and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.
- Use data and commercial insights to support decision-making throughout the venture lifecycle.
Requirements
- Proven experience in venture building, business development, corporate innovation, strategic partnerships or strategy.
- Demonstrated experience identifying, structuring and closing commercial partnerships or deals.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including unit economics and financial modelling.
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional projects and bringing ideas from concept to execution.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and entrepreneurial environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, particularly without direct authority.
- Experience working across global and local organisational structures.
- Strong negotiation, project management and commercial decision-making skills.
- Fluent German and English.
