We are seeking an experienced Vertex CAD Detailer VA to support an established Australian business operating across steel framing, construction, window supply, and kitchen supply.

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for completing steel frame detailing using Vertex CAD. This is a specialised role requiring hands-on experience with Vertex CAD, strong technical detailing skills, and the ability to produce accurate work aligned with Australian construction standards and requirements.

The business currently has an in-house detailer as well as subcontracted detailing support. This role will provide additional capacity as the business continues to grow and manage an increasing project workload.

• Complete steel frame detailing using Vertex CAD
• Prepare accurate and detailed drawings based on project specifications, plans, and requirements
• Review architectural and structural information before commencing detailing work
• Ensure drawings and detailing outputs comply with relevant Australian standards and construction requirements
• Coordinate with the client's in-house detailer regarding current projects, detailing processes, and company standards
• Make revisions and adjustments to drawings based on internal feedback or project changes
• Maintain accuracy and consistency across drawings and project documentation
• Manage assigned projects and ensure work is completed within agreed deadlines
• Communicate proactively regarding project progress, technical issues, missing information, or potential delays
• Support the business in managing overflow detailing work as project volumes increase
  

• Demonstrated professional experience using Vertex CAD
• Previous experience in steel frame detailing, preferably within residential construction
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, architectural plans, and structural documentation
• Experience working with Australian construction projects or familiarity with Australian building and detailing standards
• Strong technical drawing and drafting skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to interpret plans and translate project requirements into accurate detailing outputs
• Strong time management skills and ability to meet project deadlines
• Reliable and able to work independently in a remote environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable collaborating remotely with an Australian-based team
  

• Previous experience working remotely for an Australian construction or steel framing business
• Experience detailing residential house projects
• Background in cold-formed steel or light-gauge steel framing
• Experience working alongside Australian-based detailers, engineers, builders, or construction teams
