Job Description: Position Summary: (Overview of key purpose and accountability of the role) Financial institutions are required to manage ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Risks arising from their business strategies and operations and arising from the communities and geographies they operate in. Within the three lines of defence model, we are seeking a Vice President, ESG Risk to support the Director, ESG Risk in the development and ongoing operation of the second line ESG risk oversight function across Europe and Asia-Pacific, including TD Global Finance (TDGF) in Dublin. In this role, you will support the maintenance, enhancement and ongoing implementation of the organisation's ESG risk management framework. You will work with cross-functional teams to help identify, assess and manage ESG risks, and support second line review and challenge of the organization's ESG-related activities in line with regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations. In this role, you will engage with the Global Markets and Corporate & Investment Banking businesses, Finance, Technology, Auditors, and other relevant stakeholders. There will also be engagement with support and control functions operating within global centres for TD Securities, which is the wholesale bank of the parent entity, TD Bank. You will be required to develop and maintain a strong understanding of the organisation's businesses and functions, including how ESG risks may impact its business activities, risk profile, and compliance with evolving regulatory requirements. Specific Responsibilities: Support the implementation and maintenance of ESG risk management frameworks, processes and policies. Monitor and assess emerging ESG risks and trends, providing insights and recommendations to support the integration of ESG risk considerations into business activities and risk management processes. Support the implementation and ongoing enhancements to comply with ESG regulations, standards, and guidelines, including but not limited to the ECB Guide on Climate-related and Environmental Risks, EBA Guidelines on Management of ESG Risks, EBA Guidelines on Environmental Scenario Analysis, Pillar 3 ESG disclosures, and others applicable to European and Asia-Pacific banking institutions. Support the delivery of ESG risk assessments and related risk reviews, working with business stakeholders across the organization, and contributing to second line review and challenge of the assessment and management of identified ESG risks. Assist in the preparation of ESG risk reporting for senior management and governance committees, including inputs on risk appetite measures, key risk indicators, material ESG risks impacting the region, and the effectiveness of ESG risk management practices. Provide subject-matter expertise to support the development of the organisation's ESG risk practices, including how ESG considerations are reflected in governance arrangements, oversight functions and BAU risk management activities. Contribute to ESG risk materiality assessments, scenario analysis (including operational risk scenarios and BCP plans), ESG stress testing exercises and the integration of ESG risks into ICAAP/ILAAP, supporting the evaluation of ESG risk impacts across relevant risk categories. Support the development, maintenance and monitoring of ESG Risk Appetite measures and Key Risk Indicators, including tracking performance against thresholds and supporting escalation requirements. Support ESG regulatory gap assessments and the preparation of inputs for regulatory submissions, supervisory requests and related action plans. Stay updated on ESG developments, regulations, and industry best practices and identify opportunities for continuous improvement to drive the maturity of the ESG risk management program. Role requirements: Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience in Finance, Risk Management, Environmental Science, Sustainability/ESG integration or a related field. Related professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, GARP) is a plus. Practical experience in ESG/climate risk, sustainable finance, compliance, corporate governance or other risk-related roles within financial services. Knowledge of ESG regulatory requirements, supervisory expectations and industry developments would be advantageous. Understanding of capital markets and banking activities, products and processes, with the ability to assess how ESG and climate-related risks may impact business activities and traditional risk types. Experience supporting ESG risk assessments, materiality assessments, scenario analysis or stress testing activities would be advantageous. Effective verbal and written communication skills; with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and concisely to diverse stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions and departments. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess regulatory requirements and translate them into practical risk management activities. Experience supporting regulatory change initiatives, programme delivery and implementation activity, ideally within a banking or financial services environment. Microsoft office skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills Proven organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously and balance project work with ongoing risk management responsibilities. Risk Management Responsibilities: Responsible for identifying and reporting Operational Risk Events in accordance with policy. Responsible, along with all colleagues, to contribute in a positive way to TDGF's reputation and the management of Reputational Risk.
