Vice President / Head of Finance & Accounting (India) Department: Finance & Accounting Reports To: CEO Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, with required overlap with U.S. Central Time Zone Location: Remote - India Salary: Best in Industry (Not a constraint for the right candidate) Job Summary: Austin Bazaar is seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President / Head of Finance & Accounting to lead our India-based Finance & Accounting team and support our U.S. operations. This role will work directly with the CEO and leadership team to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, cash flow management, inventory finance, financial planning, and business performance analysis. Austin Bazaar is one of the largest online retailers of musical instruments, pro audio equipment, and accessories in the United States. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, we sell across Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Shopify, and our growing B2B business. Manage and develop the India-based Finance & Accounting team. Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, year-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial controls. Ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Prepare and deliver timely monthly financial statements and executive-level reporting. Develop annual budgets, forecasts, long-range financial plans, and financial models. Build and maintain a reliable 13-week rolling cash flow forecast. Manage cash flow planning, working capital, vendor payment planning, banking relationships, and credit facility support. Analyze inventory investment, inventory valuation, aging inventory, excess inventory, and working capital impact. Support inventory forecasting, purchasing decisions, and cash availability planning. Analyze gross margin, SKU profitability, brand profitability, sales channel profitability, marketplace fees, fulfillment costs, and advertising ROI. Forecast Amazon settlements and marketplace cash flow timing. Develop executive dashboards, KPIs, and financial performance reporting. Partner with Operations, Procurement, Marketing, Customer Service, Technology, and Executive Leadership to improve profitability, controls, and business performance. Coordinate with external accounting partners, auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers as needed. Continuously improve finance processes, systems, reporting accuracy, documentation, and internal controls. Translate financial data into clear business recommendations for the CEO and leadership team. Establish a culture of accountability, accuracy, timeliness, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Qualifications & Experience: Chartered Accountant, CPA, or equivalent finance/accounting qualification preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience. 5+ years of experience managing finance or accounting teams. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, and financial controls. Experience supporting U.S.-based companies or working closely with U.S. leadership teams. Strong understanding of cash flow forecasting, working capital management, budgeting, and financial planning. Experience with inventory accounting, inventory valuation, gross margin analysis, and profitability reporting. Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills. Experience with accounting systems, ERP platforms, and financial reporting tools. Ecommerce, online retail, marketplace, distribution, or supply chain finance experience preferred. Amazon marketplace finance experience preferred, including settlements, fees, advertising spend, fulfillment costs, and profitability reporting. Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with U.S. leadership and internal teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making abilities. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with remote, global, or distributed teams preferred. Ability to work hours that overlap with the U.S. Central Time Zone.
