CBIZ Benefits & Insurance is separating from CBIZ and must stand up its own secure, resilient technology foundation. The VP of Infrastructure and Security Operations will own cloud infrastructure and computing, network, and end-user computing including the service desk, telecommunications, and security operations. You will lead the move off CBIZ-provided infrastructure and the transition services agreements (TSAs), and build a small, nimble team that relies on managed service providers (MSPs and MSSPs) and strong partner relationships. The role puts simplicity, automation, and AI to work to reduce cost while protecting sensitive data.
Essential Functions & Primary Duties

- Use next-generation solutions to reduce costs and increase simplicity, including automation and AI
- Develop and maintain a disaster recovery and resiliency strategy for critical systems
Carve-Out Execution
- Lead infrastructure separation from CBIZ, including tenant and domain separation, network and connectivity build, Day-One readiness, and standalone operations
- Manage TSAs and define exit criteria, so that dependence on CBIZ ends on a commercially bounded schedule
- Work with the Applications leader on sequencing, data separation, and cutover
Operations and Service Delivery
- Create and manage the service desk, including the service model, tooling, staffing, and employee experience
- Create and manage critical operational metrics and SLAs, with regular reporting on availability, incident response, and service quality
- Oversee monitoring, maintenance, upgrade, and administration of all IT systems, using ITIL-aligned practices
- Manage contact center and telephony infrastructure in partnership with the business, including the Genesys platform where applicable
- Implement process improvements and automation to reduce manual work and operating cost
Security and Safe AI Enablement
- Design and implement zero trust environments, including identity, device, network, and data controls
- Lead security operations, including endpoint protection, monitoring and response, vulnerability management, and identity and access management
- Enable the organization to use AI solutions safely and effectively, with governance that protects sensitive data (PII and client and carrier data)
- Build and maintain controls and audit evidence for SOC 2, and PHI/PII requirements
Partners, Vendors, and Team
- Select and manage MSP and MSSP services and manage onshore and offshore teams
- Apply procurement rigor to every vendor decision, including requirements, competitive evaluation, contract terms, and SLAs
- Build strong, strategic partner relationships that create value and resilience for the company
- Build and lead a small, nimble team that depends on MSP services, with clear ownership and accountability
- Support the technology intake process so infrastructure demand is tied to a strong business case and priority
Financial Management
- Own the infrastructure and security operations budget, including capex and opex
