The Office of the CFO (OCFO) team partners with middle market stakeholders to provide strategic finance solutions and operational, technical and transaction accounting advisory across the entire business and investment lifecycle. Leveraging backgrounds in accounting, finance, operations, audit, investment banking, investing and consulting, the OCFO team provides holistic perspectives and capabilities to deliver results that are unmatched in the industry.
Portage Point Partners is seeking an Account Advisory Vice President (VP) to deliver operational, technical, transaction and data analytics advisory across the full business and investment lifecycle. As key contributors within the OCFO and Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) practices, Vice Presidents leverage backgrounds in accounting, finance, audit, operations and consulting to provide holistic, data-driven insights that help clients modernize financial operations and navigate complex transactions. This VP role offers a broad, high-impact opportunity to support buyers and sellers through the transaction process and beyond, while enhancing efficiency, accuracy and decision-making across client organizations. This individual will lead key initiatives, manage discrete workstreams and collaborate closely with senior leaders in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support deals involving complex accounting, reporting and transaction related matters, including acquisitions, divestitures, IPOs, debt offerings and other strategic transactions
- Prepare and review pro forma financial statements and deal related financial information
- Provide technical and strategic accounting guidance (ASC 606, ASC 805, ASC 842, US GAAP, IFRS and SEC standards) and translate into broader business and stakeholder implications for clients
- Support clients with accounting policy development, technical accounting research, preparation of technical memos, audit readiness activities, peer benchmarking and implementation of new accounting standards
- Lead GAAP conversion projects, including identification of GAAP differences and quantification of financial statement impacts
- Conduct and oversee detailed financial analysis and assist in deliverable preparation that informs client strategy and decision-making
- Draft clear and compelling reports outlining key takeaways
- Collaborate with senior team members to evaluate client performance, diagnose issues across the finance operating model, identify improvement opportunities and prepare / prioritize actionable recommendations
- Develop data models, reports and dashboards leveraging tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx or Excel to provide clear, data-driven insights.
- Support client meetings, helping translate findings into actionable insights, manage stakeholder expectations and supporting the execution of solutions
- Lead the development, standardization and continuous improvements of methodologies, templates and best practices that enhance the OCFO and TAS practices
- Provide coaching and mentorship to junior team members
- Lead internal trainings and best practice sharing
