Video Editor

We're looking for a Video Editor to own short-form content production for one of the largest content creators in the vintage clothing space. You will take pre-selected moments from long-form YouTube videos and turn them into polished, highly engaging vertical videos optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. This is not a clip-finding role. The moments will be identified for you. Your job is to bring them to life with strong pacing, purposeful sound design, captions, supporting visuals, and the editorial instincts that make people watch to the end. You will work in parallel with the Lead Editor so that short-form and long-form content are ready around the same time. Why You'll Want to Join You will be paid in USD (bi-monthly: every 15th and 30th) Paid Time Off in accordance with company policy Observance of Holidays per company guidelines 100% remote setup so you can work wherever you're most productive Work inside a fast-growing media brand generating hundreds of millions of views across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok High-output creative role with room to grow into long-form editing as the company scales What You'll Work On Short-Form Video Editing Edit short-form vertical videos in Adobe Premiere Pro from pre-selected source clips Trim provided moments into compelling 45 to 90 second edits with strong hooks and high viewer retention Add captions using the provided brand style Add sound effects and music to enhance pacing and engagement Source relevant supporting images, videos, memes, and screenshots to support storytelling Add punch-ins, motion, and visual emphasis where appropriate Apply basic color correction and maintain a consistent look across footage Match the established editing style and pacing across all deliverables Export completed edits and incorporate creative feedback efficiently Editorial Instincts and Style Make independent creative decisions on pacing, trims, visual support, and sound design while staying within the established style Recognize when visuals are needed to support dialogue rather than leaving the screen static Apply comedic timing and purposeful humor where appropriate Understand viewer retention principles and actively edit to keep attention throughout What You Bring Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro with a demonstrated track record of editing short-form vertical content Experience editing for TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts with a clear understanding of platform-specific pacing and retention Ability to source relevant visual assets independently including images, clips, memes, and screenshots Strong communication skills with the ability to receive and implement creative feedback without friction Ability to work quickly, manage multiple edits simultaneously, and meet consistent deadlines Genuine interest in watching and analyzing YouTube and short-form content, not just editing it Nice to Have Experience with Adobe After Effects for motion graphics or visual effects Photoshop or Figma experience for graphic asset creation Interest or knowledge in vintage clothing, fashion, or streetwear culture Motion graphics experience How to Apply Please include: Your updated resume A portfolio link showing at least 3 to 5 examples of short-form vertical content you have edited, ideally from long-form source material A short Loom video (1 to 2 minutes) introducing yourself, walking through one edit you are proud of, and explaining the specific creative decisions you made around pacing, sound design, and supporting visuals Only candidates who submit both a portfolio and Loom video will be moved to the next step of the hiring process. Shortlisted candidates will receive a trial edit brief including a Premiere Pro project, source footage, caption preset, sound effect library, and brand fonts. You will be asked to produce a polished vertical short-form edit that demonstrates your editorial instincts, pacing, and storytelling ability.
