Disbursed Semi-Monthly Reports to: Marketing Manager VA Claims Insider is seeking a reliable and creative Video Editor to turn raw footage into polished, engaging video content for YouTube, social media, paid advertising, customer testimonials, and other marketing channels.The Video Editor will edit, package, upload, and publish video content for the VA Claims Insider YouTube channel and other marketing platforms. Most weekly assignments will consist of 5–20 minute YouTube videos or 1–2 minute YouTube Shorts. The role may also include periodic video advertisements, testimonials, promotional videos, and other social media video requests. The Video Editor will work closely with the marketing and content teams to understand each project’s goals, organize raw footage, develop a clear narrative, and deliver professional videos that align with VA Claims Insider’s brand and storytelling standards. What You’ll Do: Upload and publish completed videos to the VA Claims Insider YouTube channel. Add approved video titles, descriptions, thumbnails, links, playlists, tags, captions, end screens, cards, and other required publishing details. Schedule videos for the approved publication date and time. Review each upload before publication to confirm the video, audio, thumbnail, links, formatting, and visibility settings are correct. Monitor published videos for processing, copyright, caption, or technical issues and resolve or escalate them promptly. Monitor and respond to YouTube comments using approved response templates, links, and brand guidance, and escalate customer-service or sensitive questions when needed. Edit and assemble raw interview, presentation, educational, testimonial, livestream, and B-roll footage into polished video content. Complete approximately 4–5 video projects per week based on the normal length and complexity of assigned projects. Edit 5–20 minute long-form videos for the VA Claims Insider YouTube channel. Edit 1–2 minute YouTube Shorts and other short-form social videos. Periodically edit video advertisements, customer testimonials, promotional videos, and other marketing content. Repurpose long-form footage into engaging short-form clips when requested. Remove mistakes, long pauses, repeated statements, and unnecessary content while maintaining a natural flow. Add engaging openings, captions, graphics, transitions, music, calls to action, and other approved creative elements. Format and export videos according to platform requirements, including horizontal and vertical formats. Apply color correction, basic color grading, audio cleanup, sound design, motion graphics, and visual effects as needed. Maintain the original meaning, context, and intent of speakers when editing educational or VA claims-related content. Work with the marketing team, content team, and subject-matter experts to understand project objectives and creative direction. Review scripts, briefs, notes, and supporting materials before beginning the editing process. Find and use properly licensed or copyright-free stock footage, B-roll, imagery, music, and sound effects when needed. Create basic motion graphics, lower thirds, title cards, text animations, and branded visual elements. Add accurate burned-in captions or subtitles when required. Make reasonable revisions based on clear and consolidated team feedback. Organize raw footage, project files, graphics, audio, and completed exports using approved company systems. Maintain clean project files so footage and assets can be easily located and reused. Deliver all editable project files, source files, and final exports to VA Claims Insider. Troubleshoot routine post-production, file-format, audio, and export issues. Manage multiple projects and deadlines while communicating clearly about progress, questions, or potential delays. Stay current with YouTube, Shorts, social media video trends, and practical post-production techniques. Required Qualifications: Proven experience as a video editor or post-production editor. Strong portfolio or editing reel demonstrating relevant YouTube and short-form video work. Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or another professional editing platform. Familiarity with Adobe After Effects, Opus Clip, or similar supporting tools is a plus. Strong understanding of video editing, pacing, storytelling, composition, color correction, and audio cleanup. Experience editing talking-head, interview, educational, or presentation-based video content. Experience creating both long-form YouTube videos and vertical short-form videos. Knowledge of YouTube and social media video formats, aspect ratios, captions, and export settings. Ability to turn raw footage into clear, engaging, and well-paced content. Strong attention to spelling, captions, audio quality, branding, and visual consistency. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several projects at once. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to follow project briefs, brand guidelines, templates, and documented feedback. Clear written and verbal English communication skills. Reliable computer capable of professional video editing. Secure, high-speed internet connection. Reliable remote working environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience editing content for an established YouTube channel. Experience editing educational, veteran-focused, healthcare, legal, financial, or service-based content. Experience editing customer testimonials, interviews, webinars, livestreams, or direct-response video advertisements. Experience turning long-form videos into engaging YouTube Shorts and social clips. Familiarity with basic motion graphics and audio post-production. Experience working remotely with a U.S.-based marketing team. Familiarity with Google Drive and project-management platforms such as ClickUp, Asana, Monday.com , or similar systems. Basic understanding of YouTube audience retention, social media hooks, and direct-response video structure.
