The Video Editor is responsible for organizing footage, building rough edits from approved scripts, preparing projects for author review, and supporting production quality control for author-submitted videos. Responsibilities Ingest, organize, and conform video footage received from production teams and authors worldwide. Use approved AI-enabled tools to support efficiency, transcription, captioning and quality control. Log and label footage according to JoVE naming conventions, metadata standards, and project folder structures. Assemble rough cuts of JoVE Journal video articles based on approved scripts and editorial guidelines. Prepare Adobe Premiere Pro project files, template folders, and related assets for the post-production workflow. Generate basic text, graphical, and visual assets using Adobe Creative Cloud applications. Conduct production quality control reviews of author-submitted videos, identifying technical, visual, audio, and content-related issues. A Bachelor’s degree. Demo reel or portfolio demonstrating relevant editing experience is required. 3+ years of professional video editing experience. 1+ year of hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Cloud post-production applications, especially, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Media Encoder. Strong understanding of post-production workflows, including codecs, file formats, proxies, importing, exporting, transcoding, audio cleanup, and media management. A competitive compensation package.
