- Remote | Nigeria-Based
- Fixed Rate Per Completed Vlog
- Ongoing Editing Opportunities
- Supporting a Fast-Growing Global Content Brand
- Must Be Available to Communicate During UK Working Hours
About the Role
UCM Global is building a small team of reliable and talented freelance Video Editors to support the continued growth of a fast-growing digital content brand.
The brand focuses on family and lifestyle content and has built a strong and engaged audience across multiple social media platforms.
This is a project-based opportunity rather than a fixed-salary position. Editors will be paid an agreed fixed rate for each completed vlog and will be allocated projects based on business requirements, availability and performance.
We are looking for editors who can take ownership of raw footage and transform it into engaging, polished and well-structured long-form content without requiring constant creative direction.
What You May Be Responsible For
Depending on content requirements and your availability, projects may include:
- Editing 1-2 long-form family and lifestyle vlogs, typically around 8–15 minutes
- Reviewing and organising raw footage
- Building engaging openings and strong viewer hooks
- Creating a clear narrative and maintaining strong pacing throughout each video
- Using music, sound effects, captions, graphics and transitions purposefully
- Maintaining the established tone and visual identity of the Monago Family brand
- Implementing reasonable feedback and revisions efficiently
- Preparing final exports in the required format
- Delivering polished work within agreed deadlines
How the Workflow Operates
- Editors are paid a fixed agreed rate for each completed vlog.
- The first draft will normally be expected within 48 hours of receiving the footage, unless another timeframe is agreed in advance.
- Editors must communicate proactively if an issue may affect delivery.
- Projects may be reassigned when an editor cannot meet the agreed deadline or when the first draft falls significantly below the required standard.
- Work will be allocated according to content requirements and each editor’s performance.
- Editors who consistently demonstrate strong quality, reliability and professionalism will receive priority as more projects become available.
What We Are Looking For
- A strong portfolio demonstrating long-form video editing
- Experience editing vlogs, YouTube content, family content, lifestyle content or similar formats
- Strong understanding of pacing, storytelling and audience retention
- Ability to identify the strongest moments within raw footage
- Confidence using Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or CapCut
- Strong English comprehension
- Excellent attention to detail
- Reliable internet connection and suitable editing equipment
- Ability to manage projects independently
- Professional and proactive communication
- Openness to feedback and the ability to implement revisions accurately
- Availability to communicate with the team during UK working hours when required
Performance and Future Opportunities
Projects will be allocated based on overall performance, including:
- Editing quality
- Storytelling and pacing
- Reliability
- Communication
- Ownership
- Professionalism
- Responsiveness to feedback
- Ability to work efficiently within the production workflow
As the channel continues to grow, we expect the volume of content and editing opportunities to increase.
Our aim is to build long-term working relationships with editors who consistently deliver high-quality work, protect the publishing schedule and require minimal operational follow-up from the wider team.
This Opportunity Is Not Suitable for You If
- You require detailed direction for every creative decision
- You rely heavily on generic templates
- You struggle to create a clear story from raw footage
- You regularly miss deadlines or communicate only after a deadline has passed
- You submit first drafts that require substantial reworking
- You are unable to complete a first draft within approximately 48 hours when required
- You are not comfortable working on a project-based, per-vlog payment structure

Shortlisted applicants may be invited to complete a 48 hour practical editing assessment as part of the trial.
The assessment is designed to evaluate:
- Storytelling
- Pacing
- Creative judgement
- Technical execution
