Producer Director

Bold Content Video

London (remote, with travel to shoots)

£40,000–£50,000 · Full time · Reports to the Managing Director

Bold Content is a London video marketing agency. We make employer brand films, learning and development content, explainer videos, documentaries and multi-channel campaigns for brands who need video to shift something measurable.

We're looking for a Producer Director who can own a client relationship end to end, then direct and shoot the work that comes out of it.

Benefits

Flexible working, bonus scheme, training and development, access to the latest kit, pension, SSP.

  • We're a small team with a friendly, collaborative culture.

About the role

This is a senior, high-ownership role combining client leadership, hands-on craft and commercial responsibility. You'll manage key accounts, lead delivery across several projects at once, and play an active part in growing those accounts over time.

You won't be waiting for briefs to land. You'll spot opportunities, bring ideas to clients before they ask, and treat the health of your accounts as your responsibility. It suits someone comfortable with autonomy and ambiguity, who makes judgement calls without asking permission first.

Client ownership and growth

  • Own the day-to-day relationship with key clients and build trust with senior stakeholders by understanding their role, their pressures and what they're measured on
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts through additional content, campaigns or improvements
  • Treat quiet periods as time to review accounts and propose new ideas
  • Work with the Managing Director and marketing team to align production output with revenue goals
  • Contribute to revenue targets through account growth and retention, not delivery alone

Each quarter you'll be expected to identify and pursue six growth opportunities across your accounts.

Production and direction

  • Run projects from brief to delivery, on brief, on schedule and on budget
  • Direct on-set shoots across interviews, brand films, events and documentaries, giving creative and technical leadership to crew, talent and clients
  • Operate camera, lighting and audio to a high professional standard, adapting setups to whatever the location throws at you
  • Edit and colour grade to a high standard, in line with brand guidelines
  • Translate briefs into visual treatments, storyboards and shot lists, including during pitch and pre-production
  • Shape stories and structures that align with marketing objectives and land with the target audience
  • Manage footage, backups and delivery workflows with precision
  • Keep budgets, SOWs, proposals, call sheets and risk assessments clear and accessible

Commercial accountability

  • Scope and quote projects accurately, balancing client needs with healthy margins
  • Protect margins through clear scoping, expectation management and freelancer negotiation
  • Discuss value, scope and commercial implications with clients directly

Team and freelancers

  • Lead freelance crews with clarity and authority, and set the quality bar across every shoot
  • Address underperformance directly and constructively
  • Build and maintain a pool of trusted freelancers at different price points
  • Mentor junior crew, producers and coordinators as the team grows

Process, AI and scale

  • Find inefficiencies in production, reporting and account workflows, and fix them
  • Explore and implement AI tools to cut admin and help clients hit their objectives faster
  • Build simple, practical SOPs that other people can actually follow

New business and profile

  • Support pitches, proposals and new business conversations
  • Capture and make use of behind-the-scenes content for our own marketing
  • Represent Bold Content in client meetings and at events, and raise the profile of the business on LinkedIn

  • What success looks like

Clients feel confident, supported and proactively guided. Accounts grow through repeat work and expanded scope. Projects run smoothly with minimal escalation. Production gets more efficient.

The Managing Director is out of day-to-day production oversight.

    What you'll bring

    • Years of experience producing and directing corporate films, in an agency or a complex in-house environment
    • Strong craft skills across camera, lighting, audio, edit and grade
    • A solid grasp of the marketing principles behind the work, and a genuine interest in helping clients hit business goals with video
    • Strong client-facing and communication skills, and a personable, client-centric approach
    • Commercial awareness and curiosity about how work translates into revenue
    • Openness to AI and automation tools
    • A UK driving licence
    • A strong work ethic and pride in what leaves the building

We look forward to your application.
