Violence Prevention Student Assistant

Department Overview: As part of the student health center, the UHS Violence Prevention team provides services designed to increase the capacity of the entire UW-Madison community to address sexual assault, relationship violence, sexual harassment, and stalking. https://www.uhs.wisc.edu/prevention/violence-prevention/ Anticipated Start Date: 08/30/2026 Anticipated End Date (If Applicable): 5/08/2027 Remote Work Eligibility Detail: Partially Remote Anticipated Hours Per Week: Minimum: 16 Schedule: Flexible scheduling established with supervisor- within regular business hours (8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday) depending on the student's class schedule and other commitments. Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum: Minimum: $15.00 Number of Positions: 1 Qualifications: -Currently enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Madison -Must be team-oriented and be able to work independently to oversee program initiatives and deadlines. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : -Excellent customer service and people skills -Excellent written and oral communication skills -Understanding of dynamics of sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking as well as services available to UW-Madison students -Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality and privacy -Knowledge, understanding, and commitment to the principles of student development, health equity, and social justice -Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word to organize basic information, prepare basic analyses, and prepare summary reports; Position Summary/Job Duties: -Provides direct support to UHS violence prevention managers in the research, development, implementation, and assessment of primary violence prevention efforts for and with UW-Madison students, faculty, and staff. -Creates, reviews, and updates materials to use for violence prevention programs and website. -Provides outreach and education about UHS violence prevention and survivor services via presentations, workshops, facilitated dialogue, and stakeholder engagement. -Provides student perspective in planning and programming efforts -Coordinates, attends, facilitates, and/or records minutes for meetings as appropriate. -Other duties as assigned. Potential projects include: curriculum development and adaptation to virtual context, gathering relevant resources, creating worksheets and supplemental content, organizing existing documents and resources; developing and/or providing feedback on broader Violence Prevention efforts including environmental strategies; assisting with outreach, supporting population-specific content development; delivery and/or other collaboration; data cleaning/coding.
