Efficiency Driven Manufacturing Initiative LTD/GTE (EfficiencyDMI) is a registered non-profit organisation focused on improving Nigeria's manufacturing ecosystem by bridging the gap between industry and academia through industry-relevant projects, workshops, industrial visitations, innovation programmes, and stakeholder engagement.
We work with students, professionals, industry partners, and academic institutions to support practical learning, manufacturing awareness, and industrial development in Nigeria.
Role Overview
EfficiencyDMI is seeking a proactive and organised "Volunteer Community Manager – Hub Lead" to coordinate and lead one of our community Hubs.
The Community Manager will build, manage, and engage a local or campus-based EfficiencyDMI Hub. The role involves coordinating Hub members, supporting project activities, promoting EfficiencyDMI programmes, organising community engagement activities, and serving as the main link between the Hub and the wider EfficiencyDMI team.
This position suits someone with strong leadership, communication, coordination, and people-management skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Hub Leadership and Coordination
Lead and coordinate the activities of the assigned EfficiencyDMI Hub.
Serve as the main point of contact between Hub members and the EfficiencyDMI leadership team.
Organise Hub meetings, check-ins, planning sessions, and activity reviews.
Support member participation, accountability, and collaboration within the Hub.
Help create a positive, organised, and active community structure.
2. Community Engagement
Recruit, onboard, and support new Hub members where required.
Build engagement among students, volunteers, young professionals, and other community members.
Encourage participation in EfficiencyDMI programmes, projects, workshops, and industrial activities.
Promote ownership, teamwork, and commitment among Hub members.
Identify opportunities to grow Hub visibility within the campus, local community, or professional network.
3. Project and Programme Support
Support the planning and execution of EfficiencyDMI initiatives within the Hub.
Coordinate Hub-level participation in DTIP, Industrial Visitations, recruitment campaigns, partnerships, and other organisational programmes.
Work with relevant project leads to support event preparation, participant mobilisation, logistics, and follow-up.
Track assigned Hub tasks and provide updates to the Regional Coordinator or assigned supervisor.
4. Communication and Reporting
Share timely updates, announcements, and organisational information with Hub members.
Collect feedback from Hub members and communicate relevant concerns to the leadership team.
Prepare simple activity reports on Hub engagement, meetings, challenges, and progress.
Maintain records of Hub members, attendance, activities, and assigned responsibilities.
Respond to official communication within agreed timelines.
5. Partnerships and Local Outreach
Support outreach to student groups, campus bodies, academic departments, professional networks, and relevant local stakeholders.
Identify possible collaboration opportunities that align with EfficiencyDMI's mission.
Represent EfficiencyDMI professionally during Hub-related engagements.
Support awareness campaigns that promote manufacturing, innovation, and industry-academia collaboration.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Strong interest in community building, leadership, project coordination, or youth engagement.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to organise people, tasks, and activities.
Good problem-solving and follow-up skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
Basic reporting and documentation skills.
Interest in manufacturing, innovation, education, entrepreneurship, or industrial development.
Access to a phone, internet connection, and basic digital tools for communication.
