Volunteer Distribution lead

Remote | Volunteer | 10h/week | Min. September-December, ideally longer

CRUX is producing a feature-length documentary following young people build concrete climate solutions across Eastern and Southern Africa, which was filmed in May-July of 2026.

With post-production set to finish by the end of the year, we need help with scaling the reach of the film through traditional film industry pathways, such as film festivals and distributor partners. As of now, our team lacks experience in that field, which is why we are looking for someone with experience in film distribution (doesn't need to be professional!) and passion for taking these stories to global stages.

What you'll do:

- Design and lead the project's distribution strategy

- Research film festivals and potential distribution partners to get in touch with

- Coordinate with the team on any materials needed to pursue distribution pathways (i.e., contracts, pitch decks, samples)

- Network with relevant entities to scale the film's reach

- Consult mentors, including industry professionals and people who have worked on similar projects

What we're looking for:

- Passion for climate storytelling

- Past experience in the film industry; such as working on amateur projects or engaging with film festivals

- Ability to work independently, take the lead on distribution, present the project to relevant stakeholders, and coordinate with other team members for any support/materials needed

- Bonus: existing connections in the film and distribution scene in Europe or Africa
