Volunteer Rive Motion Designer / Character Animator (Remote)

Role Description

This volunteer, remote role is for a Rive Motion Designer / Character Animator contributing to Buddiqo’s digital mental health initiatives. The role involves designing and animating characters, UI elements, and interactive assets using Rive or similar tools for web and mobile experiences.

The volunteer will help bring Buddiqo’s digital experience to life by creating engaging animations for onboarding avatars, interactive user experiences, and supportive mental health features. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with product and development teams to translate concepts into motion designs, creating storyboards, developing character animations, and producing interactive motion graphics that enhance user engagement.

The role will contribute to refining Buddiqo’s visual identity, establishing motion design guidelines, and creating meaningful animations that make mental health resources more approachable, engaging, and human-centered.

Qualifications

• Strong Motion Design and Motion Graphics skills for digital experiences and visual storytelling.
• Proficiency in Animation and Character Animation, ideally with experience using Rive or comparable interactive animation tools.
• Experience creating interactive animations, state-based animations, and assets optimized for web or mobile applications.
• Ability to create clear Storyboarding and visual concepts that align with product goals and user experience.
• Experience designing expressive characters, UI animations, and micro-interactions is an asset.
• Portfolio demonstrating motion design, character animation, and interactive animations for web or mobile platforms.
• Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, or similar software.
• Experience collaborating with developers, designers, or product teams in a remote environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
• Interest in mental health advocacy and willingness to contribute time and creativity as a volunteer.
