Do you have the sharp analytical skills needed to check and approve complex change orders without letting extra costs slip through? Do you enjoy turning messy historical and market data into simple, accurate models that predict baseline costs by geography and technology? If you said yes — read on. About us eStruxture Data Centers is an award-winning company and the largest Canadian-owned data center provider with locations in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary. Our solutions are designed to give customers more: more locations, more capacity, more connections that enable them to run modern, demanding enterprise applications, and offer their business the control to rapidly scale in response to unpredictable changes in business processes. eStruxture provides access to an ecosystem to almost 850 customers that trust and depend on our infrastructure and customer support, including carriers, cloud providers, media content, financial services, and enterprise customers. eStruxture offers colocation, bandwidth, security and support services to customers across Canada in its 16 carrier and cloud-neutral facilities. Everything starts with our dedicated and talented team. As an award-winning industry leader, our data centers help our customers improve network connectivity, redundancy, and uptime, scale up or down, increase cost savings, and provide a high level of physical security. Oversee activities of the finance construction team: manage the activities of the team issuing the POs, organizing the cash deposits, approving supplier invoices for payment, receiving the equipment in the ERP and tracking the progress of the projects. Change management: Monitor and authorize change orders and contract amendments. Controls: Set and apply financial guardrails on the construction projects. Modeling and forecasting Modeling: using historical and market data, develop models to accurately forecast the timing of CapEx, deposits, and the baseline $/MW while identifying variables (technology type, geography, timelines, etc.) causing fluctuations versus the baseline. Compare the eStruxture metrics with available industry data. CapEx forecasting: oversee the preparation, in collaboration with the construction team, of the quarterly CapEx forecasts and annual budgets for all expansion projects including equipment, labor, materials, professional fees and other expenses. Cash flow forecasting: Review and approve the payments and deposits forecasts for CapEx and work in collaboration with the finance team to ensure the company has the necessary liquidities available when payments are due. In partnership with the Procurement team Capital efficiency: In partnershipwith the VP, Engineering & Construction, drive capital efficiency by optimizing CapEx spending and timing through strategic equipment selection for various data center environments, robust pricing negotiation, and strategic cash flow management. Experience with complex cost models correlating construction milestones with cash flows. Education/Certification/Designation Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration. Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with ERP systems and project management tools. CPA title is an asset. Skills & Technical Knowledge Strategic thinking and ability to influence various teams. High organization skills with ability to prioritize multiple deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities: ability to dig into the "why" behind the numbers rather than taking estimates at face value and challenge the various stakeholders to get to the root cause. Great communication skills: ability to adapt communication style to various stakeholders and to explain complex project aspects in simple terms. Good business acumen and commercial awareness. Working Conditions The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek schedule from Monday to Friday.
