Engineering & Delivery Manager
Nuveen is seeking an Engineering & Delivery Manager to lead the engineering team responsible for the investment data platform — spanning the Investment Book of Record (IBOR/ABOR), performance and attribution, and the transformation layer that publishes governed, consumer-ready data to the enterprise data lakehouse.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone with deep investment-data knowledge who can own the end-to-end flow from books of record through to analytics consumers, with a named owner for every break along the path. You will set engineering direction, raise the quality bar, and partner across Operations, Product, Architecture and Data to deliver scalable, high-quality execution.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
• Lead engineering for IBOR/ABOR, performance and attribution, and the transformation layer, through to publication in the data lakehouse.
• Ensure one accountable, traceable path from source to consumer — near-real-time integration, clean hand-offs, and a single owner for any break.
• Drive data quality, lineage, governance and observability across the platform.
• Translate business capabilities into scalable platforms and a clear engineering roadmap.
• Modernize legacy flows toward cloud-native, event-driven data products with strong API, streaming and integration standards.
• Balance delivery, technical debt, risk and resiliency; establish standards for security, reliability and disaster recovery.
• Embed AI into engineering workflows (AI-assisted development) and into data operations where it adds real productivity and control, while establishing sensible AI governance, security and risk practices.
• Provide technical and delivery leadership across a distributed, global engineering team; build a culture of technical excellence, accountability and continuous improvement and Improve delivery predictability and transparency across the portfolio.
• Attract, develop and retain strong engineers; grow emerging leaders, while setting engineering standards, governance and metrics.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to Operations, Product, Architecture, Data, Cyber and Infrastructure leaders.
• Align product strategy, architecture and delivery execution.
• Communicate complex decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
