VP, Client Finance Director
Job Description:
We are seeking a VP, Client Finance Director to serve as a strategic partner to Finance Leadership and provide financial and operational leadership across the Client Finance function. The successful candidate will be a results-driven, collaborative leader who brings strong technical expertise, financial acumen, and sound judgement to drive performance, strengthen financial management, and support informed business decisions.
The role reports directly to the SVP, Finance Director and will be responsible for the following:
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and counsel to the finance team, building a high-performing function while supporting the professional development of team members.
- Drive the dissemination, review, understanding, and effective use of financial information across the business to support informed decision-making and business performance.
- Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to support existing and new business initiatives through pricing strategy, financial modeling, and contract profitability analysis.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with client finance counterparts and procurement teams, serving as a trusted financial partner and point of contact.
- Review client agreements and final client deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contractual agreements and Agency requirements.
- Ensure billing is completed accurately and on time to support working capital management, including WIP and A/R.
- Strengthen financial processes, controls, and reporting capabilities to improve scalability, accuracy, transparency, and overall business performance.
- Support agency policies and procedures and collaborate across Finance and other business functions to share knowledge and promote best practices.
- Lead and/or support special projects and strategic initiatives as requested by the CFO.
Required Skills:

Demonstrated ability to take initiative, operate independently, and drive results.
- Client Service: Strong client relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust, communicate effectively, understand client needs, exercise sound judgment, and deliver solutions in a collaborative and responsive manner.
- Professionalism: Confidence, sound judgment, executive presence, and the ability to effectively interact with employees and clients at all levels of an organization.
- Accounting and Finance: Strong understanding of GAAP, financial practices, procedures, and policies, with the ability to apply financial concepts to business and client-related decisions.
- Technical skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and demonstrated ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve financial processes, analysis, reporting, and overall team effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility and scope.
- Experience leading a finance function within a complex, evolving business environment.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with senior business leaders and managing and developing finance professionals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; advanced degree and/or professional certification is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with senior management, clients, procurement teams, and other business stakeholders to ensure financial integrity, operational effectiveness, and adherence to company standards.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
