Our client is a fast-growing wellness and technology company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Serve as a hands-on engineering leader who writes production code while also managing and growing a small team of engineers. Work side by side with the CEO to set product and technical direction, dividing time mostly between building and partly between people leadership.

What you'll do

- Ship key product features end-to-end across web, mobile, backend and AI systems, from initial problem definition through production release.

- Lead, mentor and manage a small team of product engineers, including hiring, development and difficult personnel decisions.

- Apply AI-assisted and agentic development tools throughout the engineering process to increase delivery speed.

- Work with the CEO to set product strategy and decide what to build as well as how to build it.

- Build an engineering culture and team capable of supporting significant company growth.

- Create polished, consumer-grade user experiences.

What we're looking for

- 10+ years of engineering experience.

- Prior work as a player-coach engineering manager, combining hands-on development with team leadership.

- Background building consumer-facing products that are simple, elegant and driven by user experience.

- Full-stack engineering experience, including React and Node.js.

- Practical experience shipping products that use large language models and tuning their quality over time.

- Earlier experience in a startup leadership or founding-level engineering position, or a move from a large technology company into a growing startup.

- A confident, opinionated management approach that balances quality with fast delivery.

- Strong product instincts and the resilience to do well in a fast-paced, in-person environment.

Bonus points

- Prior product work in a consumer-oriented domain such as health, wellness or financial technology.

- Familiarity with healthcare technology or insurance-related services.

Compensation and benefits

- Base salary: USD 240,000 to 280,000 per year
