About the Organization
We are working with a mission-driven education services organization that delivers high-quality, culturally responsive tutoring and academic support to students, families, and educators. Working alongside schools, districts, and community partners, the organization exists to close opportunity gaps for historically underserved students.
The organization operates across multiple states and timelines, and is entering its next stage of growth. It is now hiring a Vice President of Revenue to lead that growth.
The Role
The Vice President of Revenue owns the organization's growth strategy and leads its full go-to-market function. Three Directors report to this role: Sales, Marketing, and Grants.
This is a strategic executive seat. The VP sets direction, targets, and the operating rhythm for each function, then empowers the Directors to run day-to-day execution. Working closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and CEO, the VP shapes decisions on market expansion, revenue planning, pricing, and strategic partnerships.
- Reports to: Chief Strategy Officer
- Direct reports: Director of Sales, Director of Marketing, Director of Grants
- Location: Hybrid (virtual and in-person), with national travel as needed
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Strategy and Planning
- Set and lead the revenue strategy across existing and emerging markets, aligned with organizational goals and mission impact.
- Establish revenue targets, forecasts, and multi-year growth plans.
- Lead pricing, packaging, discounting, and overall commercial strategy across all service offerings.
- Evaluate markets, partner segments, and expansion pathways to decide where the organization grows next.
Sales Leadership
- Lead the Director of Sales in driving new business development and partner renewals.
- Build a disciplined, repeatable sales process, from pipeline generation through contract close and renewal.
- Cultivate executive-level relationships with schools, districts, and education partners, and support negotiations on major opportunities.
- Represent the organization at conferences, partner meetings, and industry events.
Marketing Leadership
- Lead the Director of Marketing in building brand awareness, demand generation, and market positioning.
- Ensure marketing, partnership outreach, and business development work from one cohesive commercial approach.
- Use market trends, competitor offerings, and partner feedback to sharpen messaging and refine strategy.
Grants Oversight
- Partner with an experienced Director of Grants to align grant and RFP strategy with overall revenue goals.
- Ensure grant-funded and contract revenue are planned and forecast together as one revenue picture.
Team Leadership and Accountability
- Design the structure, operating model, and leadership expectations for the revenue organization.
- Coach and develop the three Directors while empowering them to own execution.
- Oversee forecasting, pipeline health, and performance dashboards across all revenue functions.
- Drive accountability through quarterly reviews, goal setting, and incentive structures, using an EOS-style operating system.
Program and Product Alignment
- Partner with executive leadership so revenue strategy matches program delivery and organizational capacity.
- Provide input on the design and improvement of services from a revenue and market-positioning perspective.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a proven revenue leader from education services or tutoring. This role sells services and partnerships, not software, so EdTech platform or SaaS sales backgrounds are not a fit.
Required
- Revenue leadership experience in an education services, tutoring, or academic support organization.
- 5+ years in sales management, with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Demonstrated success building and executing sales strategy, including new business and renewals with schools, districts, or education partners.
- Experience leading or closely partnering with a marketing function on positioning and demand generation.
- Strong executive leadership skills, including coaching senior leaders and building accountable teams.
- Knowledge of educational systems, school funding, and tutoring practices.
- Excellent communication and executive presence.
- Salesforce experience.
- Ability to travel nationally as needed.
Preferred
- Master's degree in Business or a related field.
- Experience with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) or a similar performance-management framework.
- Exposure to grants, RFPs, or publicly funded contracts. Not required, as the organization has a strong Director of Grants in place.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time role with a base salary of $170,000–$195,000, plus a performance-based commission and bonus plan with significant earning potential. Total compensation is weighted heavily toward performance, so a high-achieving leader can earn well above base.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k)
- Flexible paid time off
- Tuition reimbursement
- Telehealth access
- Employee referral program
- Hybrid work flexibility
