Ambyint is a SaaS company that provides an Industrial IoT platform, leveraging physics-influenced AI models, plus closed-loop control to enable autonomous operations. As a result, we are an instrumental part of the climate technology evolution and a market leader in production optimization for the energy industry. We deliver step-change improvements to our customers by combining advanced physics, subject matter expertise, and data-informed insights with AI to automate operations and production optimization workflows. We’re coming off a strong year and are setting even higher ambitions for the future. To help us reach the next level, we’re looking for a VP, Product to join our team.
About the role
The Vice President, Product is the senior leader accountable for translating Ambyint's business strategy, customer needs and technology advantage into a focused product portfolio that drives adoption, recurring revenue growth and durable market differentiation. The VP will lead Product Management and Product Operations scale the product operating model the team has adopted and ensure disciplined decisions across discovery, prioritization, development, launch and lifecycle management.
Working as a peer to Operations, Engineering, Customer Success, Business Development, Sales & Marketing, this leader will align the organization around the product vision and roadmap, strengthen the connection between customer evidence and investment decisions, and build a high-performing product organization capable of scaling through its next stage of growth.
We have a proven autonomy engine and a decade of real operating data. The next chapter is extending that engine across more of a well's life, and turning our data into predictive reliability and economics operators can verify. We need a product leader to own that path.
This is a player-coach role. You inherit a product vision, a North Star and a product operating model the team has adopted. In your first year you will personally lead discovery with operators while building a lean team of product managers and Product Operations.
WHAT PROBLEMS YOU'LL OWN
- Our strategy is organized around operator problems, not features. These are the ones this role will own:
- Make Ambyint essential to production teams' daily work, alongside the systems they already run.
- Help operators see failures coming and prevent them.
- Prove the economics: value operators can measure in production, cost and reliability.
- Extend autonomous optimization across more of a well's life.
- Earn the trust that autonomy requires, with AI operators understand and choose to hand more control to.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Product Vision Portfolio & Investment
- Own and evolve Ambyint's product vision and strategy, lead the sequencing of bets across the life of the well, and maintain an outcome-based portfolio roadmap, aligned with company strategy, market opportunity and financial objectives.
- Translate strategic priorities into clear product bets, sequencing decisions and investment recommendations, balancing growth, customer value, platform scale, technical health and risk.
- Establish portfolio governance and decision rights so the organization can make transparent, evidence-based trade-offs and stop, start or accelerate work with discipline.
- Partner with the Co-CEOs and executive team on annual planning, Board materials, operating reviews and product investment decisions.
- Product Management & Customer Value
- Build a rigorous product management practice spanning market discovery, customer research, problem framing, discovery that retires value, usability, feasibility and viability risk before build, and outcome-based roadmaps.
- Develop a deep understanding of lean production teams managing large well counts (field operators, production engineers and asset leaders), economic buyers, workflows and decision criteria across Ambyint's target markets.
- Ensure product teams validate measurable customer problems and expected commercial value before committing significant development capacity.
- Create a continuous customer-feedback system involving Customer Success, Sales, field teams and strategic customers while retaining clear product decision accountability.
- Give usability the same rigour as value: field and engineering workflows that work at the wellsite and at the desk.
- Product Operations & Scalable Execution
- Co-lead Product Operations with the Head of Product Operations (reporting to you) as the connective infrastructure for planning, prioritization, release readiness, product data, tooling, governance and cross-functional communication.
- Implement a consistent product development operating cadence from discovery through launch and post-launch learning, with clear decision rights, firm commitments only where dates genuinely matter, and a quarterly look-back on committed vs. delivered vs. KPI movement.
- Improve organizational visibility and reliability on the commitments that matter, without adding unnecessary process or limiting innovation.
- Establish effective product tooling, documentation standards, portfolio reporting and knowledge management that can scale with the company.
- Commercialization & Growth
- Partner with Sales, Marketing and Customer Success to define market segments, positioning, packaging, pricing inputs, launch plans and enablement for new and existing offerings.
- Connect roadmap priorities to revenue growth, retention, expansion, implementation success and customer time to value.
- Shape how Ambyint's software and domain expertise combine to deliver operator outcomes, and how that model scales.
- Strengthen product-market fit by using market intelligence, competitive analysis, win-loss insights and customer outcomes to guide decisions.
- Represent the product strategy with customers, partners, investors and the Board when required.
- Technology & Platform Partnership
- Partner closely with Engineering leadership to align product outcomes, architectural direction, platform scalability, security, reliability and delivery capacity. Work to written decision rights: Product owns which problems we solve, for whom and in what order; Engineering owns how we build and technical feasibility.
- Guide the responsible application of AI and automation in the product by considering model performance, explainability, data quality, customer trust and operational safety.
- Lead the adoption of AI-accelerated product discovery and delivery, shortening the path from idea to validated to shipped.
- Balance differentiated innovation with the platform standardization required to support repeatable deployment and efficient growth.
- Ensure product priorities reflect real-world industrial workflows, integration requirements and operational constraints.
- Leadership & Organizational Capability
- Design and scale the Product organization, including role clarity, structure, workforce plans, capability requirements and succession depth across Product Management and Product Operations.
- Build empowered, durable product teams and give each outcome-based objectives tied to the North Star, rather than feature assignments.
- Recruit, coach and retain strong product leaders and practitioners; set clear expectations and build a culture of ownership, curiosity, humility and measurable outcomes.
- Create strong interfaces and decision rights across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success and Solutions Engineering.
- Lead through growth and change with transparent communication, sound judgment and a willingness to make difficult prioritization decisions.
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
- Not a project manager for engineering delivery.
- Not a feature-intake desk for customer and sales requests.
- Not a blank page: you inherit a working vision, North Star and operating model, and are expected to evolve them with evidence.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
- Strategy: A clear product strategy and portfolio roadmap are understood across the organization and actively guide investment decisions.
- Customer Value: Roadmap priorities are grounded in validated customer problems and demonstrate measurable adoption, value realization and satisfaction. The North Star moves: more wells in autonomous operation, reached faster.
- Growth: Product initiatives contribute to recurring revenue, retention, expansion, stronger win rates and successful entry into priority markets.
- Execution: Commitments that matter are met; every quarter opens with what was delivered and which KPIs moved. Product and Engineering operate with improved focus and cross-functional alignment.
- Portfolio Discipline: Investment decisions use transparent criteria and reliable product, customer, financial and market data, including lifetime value per well, wallet share within accounts and market penetration by product line.
- Organization: Product Management and Product Operations have the structure, capabilities and leadership depth required for the next stage of scale.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Progressive product leadership experience in
AIindustrial or physical-world B2B technology, enterprise software or AI, including leadership at the executive or senior functional level. - Demonstrated success defining product strategy, managing a portfolio and scaling products through a significant growth stage; experience following institutional financing is strongly valued.
- Experience leading both Product Management and a product operating discipline, including roadmap governance, product analytics, planning cadences and launch readiness.
- Strong commercial orientation with evidence of connecting product decisions to revenue, adoption, retention, customer outcomes and market expansion.
- Track record of building, developing and scaling high-performing teams in a cross-functional, geographically distributed environment.
- Ability to engage credibly with technical teams, customers, executives and Board members and to simplify complex issues into clear decisions.
- Experience in energy, industrial operations, production optimization or asset-intensive industries is an asset.
- Experience with products that act on physical systems (OT, industrial control, energy), where a wrong decision has safety or dollar consequences, is strongly preferred.
- Experience with products delivered alongside customer-facing domain experts is an asset.
- Willing to spend regular time in the field with operators (roughly 20–25% travel).
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, computer science or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
LEADERSHIP PROFILE
- Strategic and commercial: Connects customer problems, market opportunity, company economics and technology choices to a focused portfolio.
- Customer-grounded: Builds direct understanding of customer workflows and uses evidence rather than volume or hierarchy to guide decisions.
- Decisive and disciplined: Makes explicit trade-offs, protects focus and creates accountability for outcomes rather than activity.
- Collaborative and low-ego: Builds trust across functions, invites challenge and gives teams clarity without creating unnecessary control.
- Builder mindset (player-coach): Comfortably moves between executive strategy and the practical systems, talent and operating rhythms required to scale.
- Change leader: Communicates clearly through ambiguity and helps teams adapt while maintaining momentum and standards.
- Writes to decide: Expresses strategy and decisions as written narratives and owns quarterly product communication, opening each quarter with a look-back on what was committed, what was delivered and which KPIs moved.
