Position Summary

The Vice President, Strategy & Insights is a key member of the senior leadership team responsible for shaping and driving the organization's strategic direction through market intelligence, business analytics, customer insights, and enterprise planning. This role partners closely with executive leadership to identify growth opportunities, evaluate business performance, inform critical decisions, and ensure strategic initiatives deliver measurable value.


The VP will lead teams responsible for strategy development, business intelligence, analytics, research, forecasting, and executive reporting. The ideal candidate combines strong strategic thinking with analytical rigor and the ability to influence leaders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Strategy

  • Lead the development, refinement, and execution of the company's long-term strategic plan.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify growth opportunities, market expansion strategies, and competitive advantages.
  • Facilitate annual and multi-year strategic planning processes.
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable initiatives with measurable outcomes.
  • Assess emerging trends, risks, and opportunities that may impact organizational performance.

Business Insights & Analytics

  • Establish and oversee enterprise-wide business intelligence and analytics capabilities.
  • Develop executive-level dashboards, performance reporting, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Leverage data and analytics to drive business decisions and operational improvements.
  • Identify trends and provide actionable recommendations to improve revenue, customer experience, productivity, and profitability.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and governance across reporting functions.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Monitor industry trends, customer behavior, market dynamics, and competitive activity.
  • Conduct market assessments and business cases for new products, services, partnerships, and investments.
  • Lead strategic research initiatives to support organizational growth and innovation.
  • Provide thought leadership and strategic recommendations based on internal and external insights.

Executive Partnership & Decision Support

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the President and executive leadership team.
  • Develop presentations, business reviews, and strategic recommendations for executive and Board discussions.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment on strategic priorities and business objectives.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and other strategic initiatives through financial and strategic analysis.

Performance Management

  • Establish frameworks to monitor progress against strategic objectives.
  • Lead quarterly and annual business review processes.
  • Measure strategic initiative effectiveness and recommend course corrections where necessary.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making.

Team Leadership

  • Build, develop, and lead high-performing teams across strategy, business intelligence, analytics, and research functions.
  • Foster a collaborative culture focused on innovation, growth, and strategic thinking.
  • Mentor leaders and team members to strengthen analytical and strategic capabilities across the organization.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in strategy, consulting, business intelligence, analytics, corporate development, or related disciplines.
  • Experience partnering directly with executive leadership and influencing enterprise-level decisions.
  • Proven success developing and executing strategic initiatives that drive measurable business results.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience leading high-performing analytics, strategy, or insights teams.
  • Exceptional executive communication and presentation skills.

Preferred

  • Master's degree (MBA or related discipline).
  • Experience in high-growth, private equity-backed, or transformation-focused organizations.
  • Background in corporate strategy, management consulting, business operations, or market research.
  • Experience supporting Board-level reporting and strategic planning activities.

Compensation
Base pay range: $195,000 – $275,000 per year. This is the range we reasonably expect to pay at hire. Placement within the range depends on job-related factors such as experience, skills, and certifications.
This position is eligible for an annual bonus.
This position is eligible for long-term incentives (equity).
This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
