Job Title: Water Asset Manager Job Description As a Water Asset Manager, you will be responsible for inspecting water asset valves, hydrants, meters, and water meter boxes for leakage. You will utilize headphones and acoustic sensors to detect leaks and notify the project manager of any potential issues. This role involves working outdoors, sometimes in extreme conditions, and requires travel from the project manager's location to the job site. Responsibilities Inspect water asset valves, hydrants, meters, and meter boxes for leaks. Use acoustic sensors and headphones to detect leaks. Notify the project manager of potential leaks. Travel to job sites and work alongside a project manager. Use phone apps to map assets and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Conduct non-revenue water recovery and control services, including leak detection and noise correlation. Plan and deploy acoustic noise loggers, establish water networks, and identify assets. Plan and implement step tests, and recover flow and pressure data. Progress in industry knowledge and equipment usage related to Water Asset Management. Complete job forms, timesheets, and all required documentation. Ensure safe working methods and participate in weekly safety meetings. Read, interpret, and measure Map/GIS information. Facilitate Leak Detection work, including advising on night work when needed. Use initiative to find field solutions for customer and division benefit. Attend or conduct site meetings with clients as needed. Maintain all equipment related to specific projects and conduct quarterly stock checks. Essential Skills Experience working outdoors, preferably in extreme conditions. Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day and lift up to 20 lbs. Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and measuring Map/GIS information. Flexible schedule with willingness to travel and work extended hours. Self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal instruction. Strong communication and customer service skills. Safety consciousness. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in Environmental Science, GIS, Biology, Geology, or related field preferred. High School diploma or GED required. Experience with Water Distribution Systems and/or Acoustic Leak Detection is desirable but not required. Work Environment Work is conducted from Monday to Thursday, totaling 40 hours. The role requires travel from Sunday to Thursday. A company vehicle is provided, and accommodation is covered. The role involves working outdoors and dealing with various weather elements. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
