Role Description The Interpreter will provide real-time Cantonese–English and English–Cantonese interpretation over the phone for clients in sectors such as healthcare, customer service, and business services. This full-time role is hybrid, based in Puchong, with some work-from-home flexibility depending on client needs and scheduling. Day-to-day responsibilities include accurately conveying messages between speakers, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to professional standards and call protocols. The Interpreter will listen carefully to callers, interpret spoken information with clarity and neutrality, and manage calls efficiently while following client-specific guidelines. The role also involves participating in ongoing training, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of terminology, and collaborating with coordinators to ensure service quality and reliability.

Qualifications
- Strong bilingual proficiency in Cantonese and English, with clear, professional verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Ability to perform consecutive interpretation accurately, preserving tone, intent, and meaning across both languages.
- High level of active listening, concentration, and attention to detail in a fast-paced call environment.
- Professional telephone etiquette, customer service orientation, and the ability to remain calm and neutral in sensitive conversations.
- Reliable work habits, including punctuality, time management, and the ability to meet full-time scheduling commitments.
- Comfort with hybrid work arrangements in Puchong and readiness to work from home with a quiet environment, stable internet connection, and suitable equipment.
- Willingness to participate in paid training, follow established procedures, and accept coaching and feedback to improve performance.
- Prior interpretation, call center, or customer-facing experience is an advantage but not mandatory; relevant academic background in languages, communication, or related fields is beneficial.
