Join us as a Wholesale Finance Analyst

The Finance Analyst provides strategic financial insight and support to the Wholesale business, supporting revenue growth, margin optimisation, and strong financial control across a complex and expanding product portfolio. The role acts as a trusted finance partner to senior Wholesale stakeholders, translating detailed financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights to inform commercial decision-making. It plays a key role in shaping discussions around pricing, margin performance, product profitability, and traffic trends.

As part of the Wholesale Finance leadership team, the role contributes to forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning, while also supporting month-end close and statutory reporting requirements. The role ensures accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement across key financial processes and outputs.


What else it involves

Commercial Analysis & Business Partnering

Deliver insightful financial analysis to support and question commercial decision-making.

Direct the investigation of revenue, cost, margin, and volume trends across Wholesale and interconnect products.

Provide financial input into pricing choices, product performance reviews, and margin optimisation initiatives.

Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.

Act as a trusted finance partner to the Wholesale business, influencing outcomes through data-led insight.

Performance Management & Forecasting

Own forecasting, budgeting, and flash reporting processes for the Wholesale area.

Support long-term planning activities and scenario analysis.

Identify risks, opportunities, and key performance drivers, clearly articulating financial impacts and recommended actions.

Support senior management with timely, relevant, and high-quality performance reporting.

Financial Control & Governance

Ensure robust financial control and governance across revenue recognition, cost allocation, and balance sheet processes.

Support month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to timelines.

Review and question financial assumptions, outputs, and methodologies to drive consistency and improvement.

Contribute to statutory and audit requirements as required.

Continuous Improvement & Systems

Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting, processes, and use of data and systems.

Enhance financial models, analysis tools, and reporting packs to improve insight and efficiency.

Support the adoption of improved systems, automation, and data solutions where appropriate.

  • External auditors (as required)


Skills, Experience & Knowledge

  • Professionally qualified accountant (or newly qualified).
  • Strong commercial finance and analytical experience in a complex, data-led environment.
  • Proven ability to influence and support senior stakeholders through insight and critical evaluation.
  • Strong financial modelling and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with complex contracts, pricing models, or high-volume transactional data.
  • Strong systems aptitude and reporting capability.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial information.


Qualifications

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline desirable.
  • Experience within telecoms, wholesale, or regulated environments advantageous.
