Wholesale Senior Desk Underwriter

Job Description This is a remote position. CK Specialty Insurance Associates is looking for a Senior Desk Underwriter to take ownership of a large, established book of commercial business. This is a fast-paced, entrepreneurial role for someone with strong commercial P&C and wholesale/E&S experience who can manage significant volume while also providing leadership to the underwriting support team. ​ What You'll Do Manage the day-to-day underwriting activity for a large commercial book Work closely with the owner and producers to keep business moving Manage and prioritize the workload of two Underwriting Assistants Set expectations and hold UAs accountable for performance and productivity Train, coach, and develop the underwriting support team Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency across the desk Review submissions, quotes, renewals, endorsements, and account information Manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness Take ownership of issues and find solutions without waiting for direction ​ Requirements What We're Looking For 3+ years of commercial P&C insurance experience Wholesale brokerage, MGA, or E&S experience Strong understanding of commercial P&C insurance Experience managing a high-volume book of business Comfortable leading, coaching, and holding others accountable Takes initiative and works well with limited direction Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment What Success Looks Like You can manage a large book without getting overwhelmed The desk stays organized, productive, and moving UAs have clear priorities and understand what is expected of them You hold the team accountable while helping them develop Problems are addressed quickly rather than allowed to pile up Processes become more efficient as the book grows The owner can trust you to own the desk and keep things moving You May Not Be a Good Fit If...
