Job Description

This is a remote position.

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Wix Website & Content Management VA to assist with a one-off website update project for an emotional wellness coaching business.

This is not a coding or web-development role. The client is looking for someone comfortable working within Wix's visual, drag-and-drop interface who can accurately update pages, layouts, buttons, images, and content while maintaining the existing brand style.

The client has already established the website, branding, content, payment infrastructure, and overall design direction. The VA will primarily execute clearly defined updates based on the client's instructions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Update and modify pages within Wix.
  • Create or duplicate pages using existing templates.
  • Modify text, images, buttons, and page elements.
  • Rearrange and resize elements using Wix's drag-and-drop interface.
  • Connect buttons to the appropriate internal pages.
  • Maintain the client's existing:
    • Brand colors
    • Fonts
    • Layout style
    • Visual consistency
    • Page structure
  • Review pages on both desktop and mobile views.
  • Ensure content is properly aligned, readable, and visually balanced.
  • Follow screenshots, written instructions, and existing pages as design references.
  • Use provided content and instructions to make requested changes.
  • Potentially assist with basic Wix newsletter/content publishing tasks.
  • Conduct basic quality checks before submitting completed work.
  • Ask for clarification before proceeding when instructions are unclear.

Initial Website Project

The initial project is expected to include updating the homepage so that it represents the client's broader Emotional Wellness Coach positioning.

The homepage is expected to provide clear pathways to areas such as:

  • Mind-Body Connection
  • Parenting / Parenting Teens

The existing parenting pages will remain available, while the new structure will provide access to the client's Mind-Body Connection workshops and related offerings.

The client has approximately 11 existing workshops that may need to be presented through the website, with the existing payment functionality already in place.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience with Wix or another comparable website builder.
  • Strong understanding of basic web layout and visual presentation.
  • Comfortable with drag-and-drop website editors.
  • Good attention to spacing, alignment, sizing, and readability.
  • Understanding of responsive/mobile website layouts.
  • Basic content management experience.
  • Ability to follow existing design patterns rather than introducing an unrelated design.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow step-by-step instructions accurately.
  • Comfortable using screenshots and AI tools such as ChatGPT to review visual layouts.
  • No coding/programming experience is required.

Important Candidate Profile

The client is not looking for a programmer or developer.

The ideal candidate is someone who can look at an existing website, understand its visual structure, and accurately replicate or modify that structure based on instructions.

The candidate should have good visual judgment and understand that the goal is to make the website look consistent with the client's existing pages and branding, rather than redesigning it independently.

Tools

Required/Preferred:

  • Wix
  • Google Workspace
  • Email
  • WhatsApp
  • ChatGPT or comparable AI tools for content/layout assistance

Communication

  • Email: Preferred for detailed instructions, documents, files, and project requirements.
  • WhatsApp: Preferred for quick updates, questions, confirmations, and time-sensitive communication.

The client prefers important instructions and documentation to remain in email so they are easy to reference.

Work Schedule

  • Flexible schedule is acceptable.
  • The candidate should ideally have some overlap with the client's Pacific Time (PT) working hours.
  • A mutually agreed collaboration window is preferred, particularly when questions or approvals are required.
  • The candidate should not proceed for extended periods when waiting for clarification.

Working Style Expectations

The client places a strong emphasis on deliverables and efficiency.

If the VA encounters a question or uncertainty, they should:

  1. Pause the task.
  2. Ask the client for clarification.
  3. Provide a small sample or progress update when appropriate.
  4. Wait for confirmation before completing a large amount of work.

The VA should not spend several hours completing an entire page if an earlier clarification could have prevented rework.

Candidate Assessment

A practical assessment will be required before engagement.

The client will provide a website-related task and instructions and will assess the candidate based on:

  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Wix proficiency
  • Visual/layout judgment
  • Attention to detail
  • Mobile responsiveness awareness
  • Accuracy
  • Efficiency
  • Communication
  • Ability to replicate the existing website's style

The candidate should provide an estimate of how long the assessment takes and accurately report actual time spent.

Engagement

This is expected to be a one-off/project-based engagement.

Additional work may include website updates, new pages, content changes, newsletter publishing, and other basic website/content-management tasks.
