STRATUSstaff is looking for WordPress Developers who can solve problems — not just follow tutorials.

We have remote technical work across websites, ecommerce, integrations, automation and business systems.

We need developers who can take a requirement and turn it into something that actually works.

Not almost works.

Not "works on my machine."

Finished. Tested. Documented. Delivered.

WHAT WE NEED

We're looking for developers comfortable working with:

• WordPress

• PHP

• HTML and CSS

• JavaScript

• Themes and child themes

• Plugins and custom functionality

• Gutenberg and blocks

• WooCommerce

• Forms and workflows

• REST APIs

• Webhooks

• Third-party integrations

• Git and version control

• Debugging existing websites

• Performance and responsive issues

Experience with BigCommerce, Shopify, HubSpot, CRM systems, APIs, automation or AI-assisted development is a major plus.

You don't need to know every technology we use.

You need to be capable of learning the ones you don't.

CAN YOU OWN THE PROBLEM?

This matters more to us than a long list of technologies on your resume.

Imagine you're told:

"We need this WordPress form to create a contact in another system and trigger the correct workflow."

What happens next?

Do you wait for someone to explain every step?

Or do you inspect the existing site, research the other platform, read its API documentation, determine the options, build the integration, test it and report back?

We're looking for the second person.

STRATUSstaff is a remote organization built around small teams called PODS.

Developers don't work in isolation.

Work is documented. Progress is communicated. Problems are raised early. Team members help each other deliver the finished result.

We expect you to:

• Understand the objective before building

• Read instructions carefully

• Research independently

• Communicate what you're working on

• Keep your team informed

• Test your own work

• Document important decisions

• Raise blockers before they become emergencies

• Finish what you start

• Look for the next problem instead of waiting to be chased

Strong remote developers don't require constant supervision.

THE DEVELOPER WE WANT TO FIND

We're not specifically searching for the person with the fanciest title.

We're searching for the person who becomes increasingly difficult to replace because they keep learning and taking ownership.

Maybe today you fix WordPress sites.

Then you start building custom plugins.

Then integrations.

Then ecommerce systems.

Then automation.

Then you become responsible for an entire technical stack.

Eventually, you may be the person coordinating technical delivery across your own POD.

That's the progression we're interested in.

MORE RESPONSIBILITY SHOULD CREATE MORE OPPORTUNITY

STRATUSstaff is building teams that can eventually take ownership of projects, customers, platforms and revenue-producing work.

That creates opportunities beyond simply completing another hourly development task.

There are no guaranteed shortcuts and no guaranteed earnings.

But people who become valuable, take ownership and help create profitable work can have opportunities for greater responsibility and performance-based income.

The potential to build substantial remote income exists.

You have to earn your way there.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

You should already have real WordPress development experience.

We particularly want people with:

• Strong WordPress fundamentals

• PHP experience

• HTML, CSS and JavaScript

• Good debugging instincts

• Experience modifying themes and plugins

• Strong written English

• Independent research skills

• Reliable computer and internet connection

• Professional remote communication

• Attention to detail

• Evidence of websites or technical work you've actually completed

We care about what you can DO.

A portfolio, GitHub profile, websites you've built, plugins you've worked on, or examples of difficult problems you've solved are valuable.

IMPORTANT BEFORE APPLYING

Our onboarding process is intentionally detailed.

Following written instructions is part of the assessment.

We are looking for people who can read, understand, execute and communicate without being repeatedly chased.
