Work Transfer & Operational Readiness Internal Consultant II

Job Summary

The Work Transfer & Operational Readiness Internal Consultant II supports work transfer readiness, transition planning, governance activities, and operational change initiatives across Premera Operations, the Partner Management Team (PMT), and vendor partners.

This role is responsible for coordinating operational readiness activities, supporting transition plans, maintaining governance documentation, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and monitoring implementation activities to ensure successful work transfers and operational stabilization. The position partners closely with business leaders, operational teams, and vendor partners to identify risks, drive readiness activities, and support continuous improvement efforts.

What You'll Do

Operational Readiness & Transition Support

  • Coordinate work transfer and transition activities between Premera Operations, PMT, and vendor partners.
  • Support readiness assessments related to training, documentation, operational controls, and business preparedness.
  • Monitor transition deliverables and provide readiness reporting, status updates, and implementation support.
  • Support post-transition stabilization activities, lessons learned documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Governance & Documentation Management

  • Maintain work transfer governance documentation, including readiness checklists, transition plans, templates, and supporting artifacts.
  • Develop and maintain process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), knowledge transfer materials, and operational documentation.
  • Support SharePoint-based knowledge repositories and ensure documentation remains accurate, accessible, and current.
  • Facilitate document reviews and governance checkpoints to support transition readiness.

Risk & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Identify, track, and communicate transition risks, dependencies, action items, and mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate readiness reviews, transition checkpoints, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Partner with business leaders, operational teams, and vendor partners to support successful implementation of operational changes.
  • Escalate issues and risks as appropriate while assisting teams in developing mitigation strategies.

Business Analysis & Operational Support

  • Work with clients and department leadership to identify business issues and support operational solutions.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze information to support operational decisions and transition planning.
  • Develop reports, summaries, readiness dashboards, and presentations for leadership and project teams.
  • Provide support for medium to large operational initiatives and readiness projects.
  • Evaluate information from multiple business partners and recommend process improvements when appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience in business operations, project coordination, operational readiness, process improvement, consulting, program support, or analytical business functions.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience creating and maintaining business process documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Experience supporting operational transitions, outsourcing/work transfer initiatives, or vendor partner relationships.
  • Experience developing process documentation, knowledge management resources, and governance artifacts.
  • Experience using SharePoint, workflow tools, or collaboration platforms to manage documentation and operational resources.
  • Experience supporting change management, operational improvement, or business transformation initiatives.

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder requests simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to identify operational risks and support mitigation planning.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation management skills.
  • Experience facilitating meetings, readiness reviews, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to work independently while building collaborative relationships across teams.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on operational excellence and customer service.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.

The salary range for this role is posted below; we generally target up to and around the midpoint of the range.

National Salary Range:

$80,200.00 - $103,700.00

National Plus Salary Range:

$80,200.00 - $118,300.00

*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.
